The video was great. It was so cool to see how the game evolved during its development phases, how ConcernedApe tested some concepts, kept some and throw away others. That was very interesting.

Regarding the two new marriage candidates, I'm kind of satisfied to see that I guessed right who they were.

I'm very eager to see how :clint:Clint's character will evolve once he becomes a marriage candidate. I hope his new related cut scenes and dialogues will show some happy moments, with positive evolution of his mood, instead of the depressed, looser and unlucky ones we are currently used to. I feel so sad for him.

As for :sandy:Sandy, I wonder how ConcernedApe will handle the fact that she is locked into Calico Desert until the bus is repaired. This will make more difficult for the player to marry her early in the game, compared to other bachelors/bachelorettes. This also raises questions about her participation to festivals:
  • who will be her default dancing partner during Flower Dance and what will happen to him/her if the bus is not repaired?
  • will Sandy be involved in secret gift-giving for the Feast of the Winter Star and again, will she be excluded from the eligible pool of receivers/givers if the bus is not repaired?
  • will she gets friendship points benefit/penalty from Luau's potluck even if the bus is not repaired?
Also, will Sandy go to Ginger Island once the resort is repaired? All bachelors/bachelorettes go there, even Clint already goes there.

Aside from the bus question, I also notice that both Sandy and Clint do play on a different ground than existing bachelors/bachelorettes in terms of raising friendship: they both stand at their desk most of the time, making it far easier to talk to them and gift them, rather than others candidates that have their own schedule each day, moving through the valley and sometimes hiding in their room (I'm looking at you, Sebastian...).

Someone earlier in the thread said her default partner is
Emily
. I suppose Sandy can just magick her way to the Flower Dance.

happy 10-year anniversary SDV From Mango Choo-choo

Hope my video actually audio is workable

Hey guys, I watched this video at least 3 times.
I am so happy to be a player growing up with the game from its rudimentary stage to its puberty till a grown-up.
I started my first journey with Stardew Valley on PC and then Nintendo Switch and returned to PC and finally, I am going to start a new save file on Switch2.
In addition to the game, I also cultivated so many friends playing the same game with me.
Across Chinese social media platforms, we call "villager" each other. Normally we start the conversation with "Hello, villager...", I think this is a good name for Stardew Valley players.
I was so lucky to have an opportunity to have a Q&A session with Concerned APE.
Perhaps I couldn't recall what the answer was, but with that being said, that was really excited interaction for me.
Happy 10-year anniversary and looking forward to having more excellent games.

I really liked the way the additional dialogue for Clint in 1.6 suggested he's starting to overcome his low self-esteem. A little. Kinda. At least there's hope for him to continue down that path. Hopefully, 1.7 will build on that further since CA had to add stuff to make him a marriage candidate. 🤞🏽 I'd like to see his low self-esteem improve the way Sebastian's shyness does or how Haley outgrows her shallowness.

I feel like there isn't much to Sandy at present, so her being added to the Singles seems a bit odd to me. It'll be interesting to see how she's incorporated into the game more and developed as character.

I saw the video last night and was really intrigued by the 'Sprout Valley' concept. It appears the layout of the town changed quite a bit in its first few years, and the whole goblin villain thing was unexpected.
I know right! I love the current Stardew Valley, but a part of me wishes that CA would release Sprout Valley as a kind of side project

Wonder what the new 10 & 14 heart events will be (I'm assuming that having 10 hearts with Clint/Sandy will be bumped down to 8 hearts in line with other bachelors and bachelorettes)
