Unofficial mod updates

Crowley's ArcaneTools hasn't been working since late last year. I'm not sure if it's a combination of the latest SDV, SMAPI, CP, and/or CP-A updates. Another user mentioned (and I've confirmed) that it worked on the following versions:

SDV 1.5.5
Content Patcher Animations 1.1.14
SMAPI 3.13.4

I've tried to take a look at it myself, but can't find anything glaring as to why the mod is no longer working with CP-A. :( The mod author hasn't been active since February and is not responding to posts. It would be nice if someone could figure out why it's no longer working!

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has time to look into BFAV again? Several users are reporting that animals are no longer producing unique Json Assets items.

The TRACE error code is:

17:19:34TRACEParitee's Better Farm Animal VarietyCannot set deluxe produce item to "-1": Save has not been loaded. Will be temporarily set to "none" (-1).

Unofficial updates fix mod compatibility when the author is away. This thread lets you download and request them.

How do I find the latest update?
Don't search this thread directly! Comments here might be outdated. See the SMAPI compatibility list and XNB alternatives list instead, which will link to the latest update (whether official or unofficial).​

How do I get help with a broken mod with no unofficial update?
First, see Modding:Help#Using mods on the wiki for the best places to get help.​
If that doesn't work, and the mod is incompatible and hasn't been updated in a long time and the author isn't responding to comments on the mod page, post a message in this thread and we'll help. Make sure to attach your SMAPI log after trying the mod.​

For mod authors
How do I create an unofficial update?
Unofficial updates use a special version format, to avoid breaking update alerts for official updates. See create an unofficial update on the wiki for more info.​
To share an unofficial update, post a comment here with...​
  • the mod name, with a link to the official mod page;
  • a list of changes you made;
  • a link to the pull request where you submitted the changes to the original author (recommended);
  • the unofficial update as a .zip file (avoid .rar or .7z for best compatibility).

Can I update a closed-source or proprietary mod?
No, only open-source mods should be updated unofficially. If you post an unofficial update for a closed-source or proprietary mod, you're violating the original author's copyright on their work. You can contact the author and suggest making their mod open-source instead (and link them to open source on the wiki for more info).​

What if the mod author is still active?
  • To fix a bug: submit a pull request or report it on the mod page instead. Unofficial updates for active compatible mods won't be listed on the mod compatibility list, so most players won't find them.
  • To fix an incompatible mod: you can technically post an unofficial update for an actively-maintained mod, but it's considered rude and some mod authors will be annoyed if you do this. Consider contacting the mod author to ask if they plan to update the mod themselves first.

How do I update my own mods?
For a SMAPI mod, see migration guides on the wiki. You can also check smapi.io/mods to know if the mod worked as of the last check (the list is updated regularly).​
For a content pack, ask the author of the framework mod that loads it (e.g. on the Content Patcher page for a Content Patcher pack). Most content packs aren't affected by game updates once the parent mod updates.​

PyTK is out of date and causing severe crashing, making it impossible for my game to save. I tested it by removing the mod, and it's the only mod I removed and it fixed the original issue I was having.

When attempting to sleep at night with the outdated PyTK installed, it left my game on the "Not Responding" screen for 8 hours (I left it open cause I thought it would load; it did not) and the moment I took it out, it started working again. Without it, seemingly a lot of my mods won't work! I know it's possible that the creator is still active, but hasn't updated the mod since February 7th of this year! if anyone is able to, I'd really appreciate an unofficial update for it!

i tried making an alternative textures conversion for DustBeauty's rustic country walls & floors mod but i keep getting an error... does anyone know what the reason might be? ;_; please lmk; thanks everyone!!!
Managed to get it working, adjusted names of the texture files and changed the variations to the simplified style, so unfortunately they won't be individually named. But it works!

I don't think I'd seen anything about an issue with golden chickens. I can give it a look, though. My update shouldn't have changes anything one way or another in that regard.

ETA: Alright, golden chickens weren't in the list of vanilla animals so should be good now.
Doesn't look like the update works anymore. Can't purchase chickens at all now :(

Hey,
any chance to update the randomizer mod? When I went through the comments, one wrote that it might be enough to migrate the mod to 64 bit. I then tried it myself. The corresponding entry "<PlatformTarget>x86</PlatformTarget>" was indeed present. After deleting it, however, I did not get any further when compiling the mod (is that compiling at all when I click on "build"?). Since I have no knowledge in C# I do not come there further.

Hello! I have a request.

The Deluxe Grabber mod is gone, and the Mod Compatibility page asks me to download the following mod https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/7920 instead. Problem is, that last mod has not been updated in a year and a half and is missing a very important feature from Deluxe Grabber, only harvesting truffles, instead of every forageable available on the map. Could anyone please add this functionality? People have been asking for it for over a year on Nexus.

[BFAV] Animals do not produce animal products.
There are animal products you need in different mods.
Someone please update this mod.

It's not a problem with this mod.

I could have a look at it. Got any screenshots or error logs please? Just so I've got an indication on where to start.
I'm assuming you mean the black void to the right of the corner room? I'll see if I can figure it out. No promises though.

Thank you for this fixed version! I believe there is a bug with the SMAPI 3.15.0/1 update. Flooring and wallpaper placement doesn’t work in the southern room, the row right above the stairs to the southern room, and the area around the crib.
