New to Modding

Hello, I'm new here and new to modding as well. I made a mods in Nexusmods a while ago, but it generally made by imitating other mods. I also have little experience on programing. So when I go to wiki about making mods, I end up getting overwhelmed because my method is different than what to do in Wiki.

To sum up my trouble, here are my question list:
  1. What text editor do you guys use when making mods? I'm have been using notepad++ to making mods. The wiki recommend Visual Code and doing things that overcomplicated for me who just want making simple mods.
  2. I would like to have a copy of--perhaps entire--SDV source code so I could be able look it up as a references without opening browser. Is there any downloadable one?
  3. Is there a tool or mods that do something like "God Mode" for testing a game? So I can do something like spawning an item or jump to designated day.

1: I've seen people both use Visual Studio and Notepad++. (I've also used Notepad all by itself when I just needed to look at the text). The set up for Visual Studio looks complicated but after that I found it's mostly open file and start typing.

2: on this page: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Modder_Guide/Get_Started#Requirements FAQ: 4.4 shows you how to decompile the game code.

3: CJB Cheats has most of what you want and CJB Item Spawner has the rest.

4: When you say you go to the wiki for making mods and get lost, do you mean the info in the Stardew wiki under "modding" or do you mean the actual modding wiki? (Here: https://stardewmodding.wiki.gg/ ) The former is useful in that it contains all the possible instructions you can add, but it's less a tutorial on how and more of a reference module. The latter contains tutorials.

Thank you so much!

Yeah, I discovered the fact after few more visits that gg one. I can't find any reference module I need via search so I get confused.
