I want to write a Stardew Valley fanfic. You guys got any ideas? I want something nice. The farmer is going to be a girl because I can relate to that the most. But if you guys could give me a basic outline of the story, that would be much appreciated. NO SPOILERS, PLSSSS.

I'm a big fan of reacting to the more magical, mystical parts of Stardew as someone coming from our regular non-magical life. Which I think is who we are at the beginning of the game, a regular officeworker who's looking for something different. The different we're maybe expecting is a change of scenery. I don't think we're even expecting a farm so that's a surprise. But the real surprises start a few days later.

In the Mines
In the Community center
In the Wizard's tower

And slowly everywhere else. Write about an IRL person encountering those crazy things for the first time. My favorite thing to write about was always that first encounter with the Wizard. Farmer Bobbi was having none of his shenanigans.

It seems like maybe you're thinking like a slice of life type thing? Unfortunately, I'm not the best at coming up with story outlines/plots unless they're completely ridiculous... But I do keep thinking of the farmer making jelly. Is that helpful?

I can't tell if that's an excited yea, or an unsure yea...
Also, I wasn't thinking about it before, but your signature already paints a very vivid picture of what your farmer is like (at least for me). I dunno about other people, but I'd totally read a fic about a farmer who picks wildflowers and talks to ducks. It sounds very cozy...

Hmm, good idea. The classic approach is probably to simply turn a story from your own game into a story and embellish it with a little more background. Or you could just take the setting and the characters and tell a completely new story, independent of your game. Maybe you could imagine how you yourself would react if you were suddenly part of the game or if the game somehow became reality... Check out Wattpad, there are tons of stories there, from simple shorts about monsters and werewolves in PT to classic love stories.

Or perhaps a fairy tale? The witch flies around and instead of laying an egg in the barn, she transforms a family member and the others have to find him/her again and the wizard helps to rescue them...
Or the little girl gets lost in the Secret Woods, meets the syrup bear and helps Master Canolli on a mission...
Or the witch kidnaps Sam because she secretly loves music and wants him to play for her forever...

You could write about trying to make every dish to get perfection, but it has a storyline, maybe about owning a bakery. IDK I just thought of that. You could also always write about two villagers that you ship and their story. Your choice!
