Android Mr. Qi Beets Quest

Okay, so I am literally at a loss at this point and need any help I can get.

I did the battery pack, and I did the rainbow shell. I have my ten beets of the same quality (all normal quality) and for some reason I can not put them in Mayor Lewis's fridge. I have tried while holding them and while just having them in my inventory, but it still only tells me what is in his fridge. Also, I am playing on mobile if that at all matters. Oh and I have checked multiple times that they are actually beets and not radishes or something.

What am I doing wrong? Was there a deadline to the quest I didn't realize? Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure you haven't done the beets already? If you haven't maybe try using the joystick and buttons to interact with the fridge. If that doesn't work I don't know what else to do.

I know I didn't do the beet quest yet because I can't give the solar essence to the sand dragon nor can I enter the casino. I also tried starting over with the first quest and nothing.

I just tried the joystick thing too and it still didn't work.

Do you have one of the quests in you quest book?
what happens if you interact with the wood pile next to your front door?

I always just walk up to the fridge and click on it, not holding the beets.

I guess I would try growing 10 more beets. For the record, the beets don't have to be the same quality, any 10 beets will do.

(I'm on iOS.)

Added thought: If you have other beets at home, put ALL the beets you own in your backpack (including the 10 you've been trying with), go click on Lewis' fridge, and see if that works. Or if you have 10 silver/gold beets (any combo) in your home inventory, try with those.
