Conspiracy or sheer coincidence?

I've read some theories as to why Penny, Leah and Robin look so much alike, but nothing is making me a believer. Anyone have any idea?

The TVA/maker wanted it that way? Consistent art style? I think it's because the valley is small, and people who live in small communities tend to develop similar physical characteristics through the generations/years, but analyzing what I wrote, this doesn't seem the case. It's just a coincidence I'm sure, Leah isn't from the valley like the player, and I can conclude that Penny's family is not originally from there either because of the trailer. :dwarf:

It's fun to look through the character pages on the wiki and see just how much the character designs have changed during development, in both style and content. I think I recall an interview where CA said he does a lot of re-drawing until he's happy with a result. :cool:

(As an occasional artist myself, I know exactly what he means. Sometimes things don't 'stay right' even if you were perfectly happy with it before. Argh. :grumpy: )

It depends on the emotion at that day when the developer created the characters.

You know... the game originally was made one person.
That caused some characters have similar personalities.

Therefore, I think it is sheer coincidence.

I think it's just genetic coincidence (super small sample size comparatively), or people who are naturally ginger are the larger population overall in the valley area (or ferngill republic as a whole), and others are the ones who've moved there or were the minority.

We don't really have concrete backstories that delve into where the ancestors of any of the npcs originated really, so there isn't a lot we can establish that way so headcanon is pretty much fine.

Robin is Penny and Leah Aunt,
Leah's Mom is Robins sister that moved away hence why she grew up else where,

(Doesn't make sense to be closer related as different eye color and ages)

Penny's Dad is Robins brother who had a relationship with Pam... it ended badly that's why Pam is drowning her sorrows.

In my own head it's simple and makes sense, most times it's the simple answers that's right lol so mine would be ...fantasy 😂 but sounds good 😊

Dangit I like this too!

Luckily for me each save I have exists in an alternate universe Stardew Valley so I guess the first exists in one universe and the second exists in the other. Problem solved! :toothy:
