1.6 Update What happened in your game today?

Farmer
I created a new farm for farmer Surit, called OneSquare based on the Meadowlands layout. I haven't quite worked out her backstory, but it involves visas, conditional employment at Joja, a dead husband, and the happy realization that through the farm her grandfather left her, she can establish residency in Pelican Township, and won't have to back to the Gotoro Empire after all.

It's been a busy few days for her: she completed the community center, plunged to Level 100 in the Skull mines getting lots of iridium and useful treasure, retrieved the Wizard's ink, catching a void salmon and a slimejack along the way, rebuilt the boat and Summer 2 is not yet over. This is very fast for one of my farmers.

She's courting Shane because she's into bad life choices and wants someone who's not fresh out of high school. She also feels a bit guilty about destroying his livelihood and wants to give him a soft landing.

She got to enjoy the villager reactions to the first green rain, but missed the wizard in her perambulations.

If it weren't for the game's coding, I'd say the proof that Abby is the Wizard's daughter is the fact that on rainy days, she can be found in the mines on floor 20 and at home if married to the farmer at the same time, as I just reminded myself when I found this scenario today.

I thought it might be nice to have a place where people can report on their farm's goings-on and the adventures of their farmer, kind of like this thread at The Sims forums. I'll kick things off!

I am still very new to the game and in mid-summer of my second year at Peacefield Farm. In the first year, I was able to learn the basics of the game, and start becoming marginally successful: by the end I was selling honey, mayonnaise, maple syrup, and jams in addition to regular crops. I also used the winter to (mostly) change my fields to be oriented around sprinklers. My goals for year two were multiple: one, get to the bottom of the mines (I'd gone from 1 to 105 in winter alone): two, expand the house; three, build more farm infrastructure like a stable, a barn, and a silo; and four, tackle the overgrowth on my little islands and expand my fields. As of this morning (Summer 15) things are going well on those fronts! I got to the bottom of the mines almost immediately, and have built a barn and filled it with four cows. I also just expanded the house, so now I can start crafting food! I had a bunch of rain days in the early summer, so I used those to attack the big island and have created a larger field there. I'm also using the little strip of land just north of the road that goes to Marnie's as an orchard. My immediate plan is to explore cooking. Farmwise, my plans are to get a silo so I don't have to plant so much wheat or buy hay from Marnie; expand the coop so I can get duck eggs; continue harvesting hardwood for a stable; and continue expanding on the second island. I want the silo first because there's a lot of grass on the big island that I don't want to waste.
What's up with the frog on Ginger Island? What does he want? I tried everything.
He's a spoiled brat is all I can say about him.
Help if you got that far.

Farmer
Today was the last eligible day for farmer Robinson to fish an octopus before the end of his first summer. He went to the beach as soon as possible and fished continuously until spawn time for octopus was almost elapsed. And then, one octopus bite.

Hurray!

Farmer Robinson caught it on the first try.

Hurray again!

Then, Farmer Robinson headed to Willy's shop to sell all his fishes... and what did Willy had to sell? A dozen of octopus baits...

Sigh!

Could have saved me half a day trying to catch this octopus...

Farmer
Surit was kinda busy. She gave Gourmand Frog the juicy-tickle-stinky tour, and found herself wondering why he sounded like a Henry VIII cosplayer from a RenFest. She then caught a specimen of each GI fish, went home and had Robin apply the nursery upgrade. On her return to Ginger Island, she punched through the volcano mines to the Caldera, and passed out after opening the gate and leaving. She forgot that she had a tent kit with her and just decided to eat the loss.
Upon her return to the mainland, she went to the farm and disgorged her pack, gave the animals some care, and headed down to the Cindersap for a Goby (Penultimate) and up to the Mountain Lake for the Midnight Carp (Master Angler achieved).

Things I've only just noticed #37: Sandy has farmer pants, shorts, skirt, pleated skirt and long dress clothing items in her regular stock at the Oasis.

Today is the last day to complete :wizard: Wizard's special order: he needs a Prismatic Jelly for his mystical studies. Farmer Robinson does a minimal and mandatory amount of chores in the farm, then he heads to the Mines, entering them at 7:30AM. All day, he resets and repeats level 5 and a few more to find the extremely elusive Prismatic Slime. Suddenly, a voice is heard in the dark "It's getting late..." Respectfully, Farmer Robinson exists the game.

Today is the last day to complete Wizard's request: he wants a Prismatic Jelly for some weird reason... Farmer Robinson does mandatory chores in the farm and rushes to the Mines. All day, he resets and repeats level 5 to find that stealthy Prismatic Slime. Suddenly, a voice is heard "It's getting late..." Farmer Robinson exists the game.

Today is the last day to complete the Pink Weirdo's request: he needs a Prismatic Jelly. Better not knowing why... Farmer Robinson rushes to the Mines and farms the 5th level like a grunt. A voice mocks "It's getting late..." Cursing, Farmer Robinson exists the game.

Today is the last day to complete the cursed quest of a cursed bunch of pixels. I lead my character to the Mines ASAP and farm that boring level again and again until the cursed message appears again on the screen. Time to reset the day...

Today is the last day to...

Honestly, if I was to mention ONE thing that I dislike in update 1.5, that will be the Wizard's special orders, especially the Prismatic Jelly. Both quests rely on RNG and they rely on it twice... You have to be lucky for the correct type of monster to appear in the level you are visiting, and then you have to be lucky for it to be prismatic (around 1 chance in 100) or to drop the ectoplasm (9.5 chance in 100)... Every times I did those quests, at some point they led to boring farming of the same levels over and over.

Am I the only one who *doesn't* have trouble with the wizard quests? I've seen so many people frustrated by them, yet I've never felt like I had a problem.

Love this! I’m new to the forum. I play way too much Stardew and have no one to talk about it with except my best friend, but she’s just started and I’ve been playing for years on my one farm. I try to help her when I can remember but it feels like ages ago since I had to start from scratch.
Lately I’ve been working towards perfection :stardrop:
I’m really close, the only thing I’m missing is 2 crafting items (the solar panels from Caroline :caroline:, I’m currently growing pineapples for her quest to get the recipe in the mail) and the quality bobber (have to wait to start quest with Willy :willy: after I grow the pineapples) and the Golden Statue.
Today specifically though, I went to Ginger Island and harvested my Starfruit for Starfruit Wine back on the homestead. I currently have two big sheds that I make wine in. My next task I’m going to start today is going to the mines to bank iron and copper so I can make a bunch more kegs for a new big shed.

First year with my partner and she just found the mayor's shorts (after being annoyed spending days looking for it). She audibly gasped lol

Please tell me that there are more moments like this in the game😅
Oh, there is a whole sordid subplot. The best detail is revealed
when you trigger the cutscene for 10 hearts with all romance-able females while carrying a rabbit foot.

Also, make sure she talks to the wizard! I think he spills his beans once you get his hearts up.

I’m on year 1 day 28 of fall and I have 108 dollars because I was trying to upgrade my axe to a steal axe except I’m broke. I went from level 10 in the mines to 43 in 2 days! I’m very excited. I can’t believe @JuniperSkyy is getting that much money in 2 nights. I normally don’t get a lot of seeds because I don’t really like to farm and it’s just not profitable until I have kegs etc. I just saw Sam’s cutscene where he skate boards on Emily and Haley’s house.

So I played on my randomized bundles, randomized mines items, .25, beach w monster spawn chaotic farm with my friend yesterday.
We made like no money and it's killing me
But we got the sticky sap bundle so thats easy, AND THEN WE GOT MASTER FISHERS BUNDLE AAH
Mostly all we did was get to like lvl 25 in the mines, and grow some crops.
We are racing to marry Sam, but he is just gonna try to get him out of spite lol
I’m racing to get him too. I’m at 6 hearts right now. Winter year 1

Surit just proposed to Shane, who believes it's an elaborate prank. I kind of feel like since she bought Penny's Frying Pan at the desert festival in Year 2, she's well prepared to play Flo to Shane's "Andy Capp."
