Strange object appeared on my farm overnight

Does anyone know what this object is that appeared on my farm overnight?

I've never come across it before. I'm assuming it is from a recent update or I may have just never have been lucky enough to get it before.

It’s the Strange Capsule. I think it’s been around from the beginning, but it has quite a low chance to appear.

I followed your link and it is indeed a rare chance with 0.8% chance of appearing, and once it breaks a glimpse of a dark creature may be seen around town.

It totally looks like a Xenomorph! It moves inside the capsule as well like it's growing - scary! According to the Wiki the capsule breaks three days after you get it - so I'll need to watch out when I'm out on my farm at night...or hire Ellen Ripley to protect me :)

Well that's the issue with Xenomorphs isn't it? Once they get into a chest, there's a 100% chance they're gonna burst out in a few days.

Yeah, but if you keep it in a chest it never ages and thus never hits the 3 day timeline and never hatches!

I'm thinking I'm going to break the capsule and see what happens - something is still growing in there. I'd love a little alien called Bob like yours @RennyBenny lol

I thought the capsule broke after 3 days @LRangerR but somehow it's still there intact, it's been like 5 days I think? Time to put in a chest for later :)

The wiki says “after about 3 days” so I think it’s probably a random chance each night after the third. My last capsule also took surprisingly long to hatch, but I don’t remember how long exactly.

Especially in previous updates due to oversight in the way they spawn. 1.5 fixed that though and now almost everyone can get one in the first couple years of the farm.
