(Sorry in advance – I only made an account on this site for this, and English isn’t my native language.)
Hi! I’ve been struggling with a specific tree to plant for about fifteen in-game days. I started by planting it in my greenhouse, where, no matter where it was planted, the tree refused to grow. I got the same “Your apple tree couldn’t grow last night” message each time. I assumed it was because the tree would be too big once grown (despite other kinds of trees growing fine within the greenhouse), so I moved it outside, where the same message appeared. I have ensured there was nothing around it, clearing an entire 3x3 area and trying to make sure there are no underground artefacts with the hoe. I am running out of ideas for how to plant this tree.

It is rather urgent, as I only need apples to finish the community centre (the fodder bundle.) I am halfwaythrough autumn, year two, so you can imagine my urgency. I don’t know how long the tree takes to grow and to bear fruit, but I want to be sure it’s ready before winter.
Any help is greatly appreciated! I really hope someone knows what to do. :) Should I sell the sapling and just purchase a new one? Or find apples by other means?
A few questions I can imagine you will have:
- Yes, I have planted other trees successfully; this is the only one acting strange.
- No, this isn’t the latest purchased sapling; I purchased an apricot sapling afterwards that did plant normally.
