You can go through the locked door in the volcano after you reach the forge on top of it. That allows you to access the forge any time you want without having to go through all of the volcano again. But since there's always a locked door at the end of floor 9, you can't go from the top down. If you want the chest on floor 9, you need to take the long way.

I mean, most deities have multiple forms, some able to transform into anything, some just with favorites, some with limits, but usually they have at least two possible forms. And the symbol that we see representing yoba means earth or grave as told by the wiki, so maybe Yoba represents earth and another god is the sun. It would be strange that the sun god would be worshipped so little compared to Yoba, though.
