Will we get more festivals???

Do you want a new festival in the game? If so which season?

So I was wondering if we will ever get any more festivals in the game. And from what I see the most likely season to have a new festival would be fall.
Since:
  • Spring: 5 days of festival (2 are obligatory, 1 is optional)
  • Summer: 4 days of festival (2 are obligatory, 1 is optional)
  • Fall: 2 days of festival (2 are obligatory)
  • Winter: 7 days of festival (2 are obligatory, 2 are optional)
By obligatory I mean festivals that lock an area of the map and end the day after you leave, while optional are the ones that do not lock away an area of the map and you can come and go as you please without the day ending just because you leave.
So by this logic if we ever get a new festival it would make sense for it to be in fall and be an optional festival lasting 2/3 days. Possibly somewhere between the 4 and 11 of Fall.
What do you all think?

maybe not a whole festival. maybe something more like the trout derby? it would be interesting with a festival on ginger island, wouldnt it?
The trout derby is counted as a festival, and a festival like the trout derby is the ones I called optional (because they don't interfere with the map). But I agree a festival in the island resort would be cool.

Kinda festivaled out tbh. I already don't like that Desert Fest conflicts with salmonberry season. That calendar outside Pierre's store is getting a bit cluttered, you know?

also squid derby ate my Bait Maker one time so I have a vendetta as it were.

I do think the variation in certain festivals in alternate years (chiefly thinking of the egg festival having different egg placement) was a nice change in the last update. (Haley actually remembering to bring her camera now is a nice touch, too.) Fine-tuning the festivals we have is more interesting to me than adding more.

But as far an optional fall festival, some sort of harvest festival seems the natural choice. I mean the Valley Fair is kinda that already but maybe some larger multi-day thing that more directly taps into Oktoberfest or Thanksgiving-style parties that traditionally celebrate a successful harvest with a big feast. Maybe two optional feast days culminating in a third mandatory Valley Fair Day?
