Question Why don't I like mods?

Mods can make games feel very bloated, and they can sometimes cause the original feeling of a game to be lost. That's the main reason I avoid heavily modding things, at least.

This seems like a question to ask yourself, not others.

Which part of changing the thought of the game? Because I have seen mods that make me wonder why the modder didn't just play a different game if they really wanted to do something that un-Stardew-like, but I also have a lot of things I like. And no doubt some things that I do like (eg, the Earthy recolour) will look/feel very not-Stardew to other people.

My general preference is for things that feel like they fit the *spirit* of Stardew Valley, meaning that they feel like things ConcernedApe would not mind seeing in his world, even if they aren't what he envisioned. So, eg, using myself as an example, it's very likely that Eric Barone, if you put a gun to his head and said "Write me 13 more events with George or Evelyn in them" would never in a hundred lifetimes have written the ones I wrote, but it's ALSO likely that if he watched them, they'd seem to him to fit the general mood and ideas he had about George and Evelyn and how they fit into the town (though maybe not about Pam's backstory).

Yes. I feel like when I use mods I say "the game is not good enough itself" but CA used alot of energy on that game.

It reassures me that ConcernedApe goes out of his way to make the game mod friendly. It feels like he's saying "If you feel like something is missing that I don't want to add myself, I'm leaving you room to try your own hand at it."
