It is implied that he has a, "secret stash" somewhere, which I probably shouldn't say regarding forum rules.

He is possibly sexist because when he scolds Abigail just for hanging out at the cemetery and told her to come home right away, she says that he thinks she must cook dinner just because she's a girl.
The store is closed on Wednesdays. I get that he wants to spend time with his family, but there's this one time I tried to fetch him a gem as a limited two-day request and the final day was a Wednesday, so I couldn't give it to him then...I've hated him since.
