Question Why do I have issues with Expanded but no other Expansions?

Forgive me if this is the wrong section for this, but this has been bothering me for a while now. For reference I'm far from a technical person when it comes to stuff like this.

So back in july-ish, when I got Stardew on my laptop after I got it on switch because I decided I wanted to play with mods, I gave expanded a try because everyone always raves about it and I wanted to try it out (personally I found it a little overwhelming, but that's not the point). The game ran fine with it for a while and then a few days in it started crashing. So of course I looked it up and found a post elsewhere where someone was having a similar issue and another person explained that it had to do with RAM, and that most expansion mods took a lot more then the regular game. After that I kinda figured no expansion mods would work because my laptops RAM is..limited (I'm looking into how to upgrade it I am just..again not a technical person at all haha) .

And then I decided to just go ahead and try anyway. I tried Easy Scarp first, and it ran perfectly, same with Mt.Vapus(If I'm spelling that wrong I'm sorry, I'm typing this on mobile.) and Ridgeside Village - I've ran a save with all three installed (though I don't typically play with all of them at once, because too many Expansions are just very overwhelming for me) and had no issues aside from some minor lag that I'm pretty sure I've actually always had.

Point of this question is Why? Why do I have no issues with Expansions like Ridgeside/East Scarp/etc but can barely run Expanded? Is it an issue with my computer like the post I saw said? Or something to do with the changes 1.6 made? Or something else entirely that I'm just missing? This is less of a support question and more 'Im very confused' type thing so I'm putting it in here instead of support, let me know if that's a mistake.

How much RAM does your PC have?
Only like.. 4GB (which, yes, I know, isn't a lot. According to the user manual and the scans I've run it can run an 8G card, but I'm not brave enough to pop open the bottom to find out) It was never really intended as a gaming laptop so that's not really what I was looking at when I got it a couple years ago. But yeah, that's the reason why I'm so confused because the post I saw said that it's not possible to run any of the big expansions with less than 8GB.(when I look at task manager it says that Stardew with Ridgeside (what I'm playing currently) on only takes up about 2GB, but I don't know if that's accurate.. again, not a technology person.)
