According to him, Abigail is always hiding in the cemetery in front of Mona's grave. –probably Mona Jasper is Abigail's role model.
Also, Abigail is always at the library reading books – possibly M.Jasper's books on caves.
That is the reason why Abigail always wanted to venture into the cave.
