maybe no one in your area is online, or they have private games which you would need to be invited to be able to play

You can hop on over to the Multiplayer LFG tab here on the forums, there are usually a few switch players looking around for co-ops, and it's a good space to find good people/farms with the same priorities and similar playstyles to yourself. Makes the whole experience really enjoyable when you find someone who you like to play with
