What's the first 'rare' item you love getting in a new game?

because once in no man's sky, I got an anomaly detector while mining asteroids for fun (btw, they have a 0.5% chance of spawning), and I only mined around 20, so yeah

I always love getting a slammer in the mines, it's a good bit stronger than a galaxy sword since I animation cancel and means I have a great weapon for skull cavern and inevitably the volcano until I get something better like a

The kudgel/lead rod/wood club serve the same purpose but are weak enough that it's a little less fun using them, so it's always a little disappointing having to use them for the volcano monsters

It's not really rare and more of just a grind, but the burglar's ring. That way I have an easier time getting the actual rare items.
I guess my actual answer would be a prismatic shard, for the galaxy sword. It's a bit boring but I hated killing the skull cavern monsters with an obsidian edge. I was almost considering buying a lava katana before a random dust sprite saved me and dropped one.

Mummies are worse than Serpents though imo.

Prismatic shard is definitely the one a lot of new players celebrate from getting even if other stuff like the tea set from the feast is more rare. Also it's useful as hell for the first time at least.

I fished hard for the first 12 days and got the Bus unlocked. Then got to go to the Desert Festival. The Marlon quest was get to level 30. I was still not at level 120 in the regular mines to get the key because I think the monsters are easier if you don't. Anyway I completed the quest and got my calico eggs, then jumped a few more levels down a shaft and got a treasure chest room with an Auto-Petter on Day 15 Spring Year 1!

If you found it before reaching the bottom, it probably means that you've got another save file where you have reached the bottom. I've found that once the diamond and prismatic shard drops have been enabled in one save file, it starts out enabled in later files. Reasoned it out when I had a slime drop a diamond in the first 40 floors. Since it's such 0.05% it rarely activates before reaching floors where it's less noticeable that something odd happened.

I remember fishing at the river by Leah's house in Spring and got an Iridium Band!!! I was so excited that I got an adrenaline rush from finding it.

I never find it through fishing, usually I have to craft one. So that was a big one.
