What's one thing you've messed up in a silly way?

I've been playing Stardew Valley for a LONG time. Soooo many hours. However, I have these moments where I've messed up my flow of things in the game because of real life. My hilarious example of this is that I gave Clint my pick axe on a Thursday and I knowwww that in the game, it would be available in two days for pick up but having that be the weekend, my brain said, "nah, you can't get that because work can only be done on business days". Because of this, I missed out on good luck days for the mine on the weekend and it just had me thinking, how many other people have had similar things where they missed out on something because real life rules bled into the Stardew Valley world. I'm curious!

I gave golden biscuits to many animals, before selling them. Because i forgot to stock up on small animal products range first (milks and eggs), before acquiring the animals i wanted for finalizing my design and "synching" them to produce at certain days, in groups.

I will find more biscuits and already have quite many, even for ponds, but those wasted ones would have brought me that much nearer, to feeding everything that can do that with a bisquit!

I keep wasting time leaving the buildings to totem away, because it feels rude to teleport from the middle of somebody's house. Teleporting just feels like an outdoor activity.

I gave clint my watering can to have it upgraded to the golden one. Completely forgot about it for 3 in game weeks, so for me that was probably 4-5 real days. I looked everywhere for it when I finally needed it again, in my workshop, my house double checked my inventory a dozen times. Nothing. It wasn't until I went to upgrade my axe that I was handed it back

I accidentally asked Sebastian to dance with me instead of my husband Harvey, I was just talking to everyone. I quit without saving and went back to the game so that I could dance with Harvey after all.

One time, I tried the trick of passing out at 2am with 0 money in your pocket to save on revival fees, but I also did not place anything in the shipping bin, and since I always forget about festival days, I ended up with exactly zero coins during the Egg festival. I did not grow any strawberries that year

Another time I was at Clint's to upgrade some tool (maybe the hoe? I don't remember), but for some reason my brain focused too much on the area of effect increase and reflexively clicked on the watering can instead. No rain was scheduled. Luckily it did not mess up my harvests too much.

Also, on my first game on 1.6, I completely missed the Mastery Cave. I knew something was going on but I could not find out what. It's only by reading the forums and seeing people talking about trinkets and stuff that I gave up and checked the wiki. I was at mastery 3 or 4 by then. I'm pretty sure I would have never found that cave without help.

Plus the time I got greedy in Skull Cavern and got killed by a monster at 1:50am, woke up at Harvey's clinic with a bunch of inventory and 1000 gold missing, then forgetting about the time, getting out of bed, only to promptly pass out right then and there at 2am, and losing another grand in money

I was using a couple really niche glitches that can move your save file around from within the game and accidentally wiped my whole main save file by doing the steps backwards when experimenting............

I did manage to recover it off a backup luckily, though lost a fair bit of progress

Spent an inordinate amount of time standing on the bridge where you catch the Angler waiting for panning spots so I can try to pan up another.

One day while looking at the wiki, it indeed says they can NOT be panned up if you've already caught them.

Glad I found out before wasting any MORE time

It's a pretty universal experience getting rejected by everyone at the flower dance haha

When I first played the game I even tried asking Marnie to dance with me

So I just spent a few in-game weeks growing a sweet gem berry, only to realise I cannot make jam out of it, and being confused as to why the raccoon would want some non-existent sweet gem berry jam. Turned out he wants spiceberry jam Luckily I had a spare one in a chest, so I wouldn't need to wait three whole seasons to grab one (fall just started).

Scarecrows I always forget to buy one or missed the event or just I am broke at that moment the deluxe scare crow has been the hardest item for me to get in all my playthrus

I just spent so long trying to find the next rabbit in line for a golden cracker that she was asleep when I figured out which of the twelve rabbits in the coop was the right one. Unlike real rabbits, these do not wake up for treats.

I think the silliest yet not silly thing is accidentally deleting a save file. It’s not hard to do especially on mobile. And I’ve done it multiple times. I wish it were a little harder to delete. 🫤

Otherwise I don’t think you can really do anything that silly in Stardew land. I meant it is a pretty silly storyline at times anyways when you think of it. Not at all in a bad way but everything is pretty fantastical when you sit back and think of it
