How do skills work in multiplayer?

My question mostly stims from my confusion as to how skills are split/shared in this game during multiplayer, i do know that anything that makes things sell for more is shared in multiplayer (ie, artisan and fisher/angler) - my only real example is tiller and rancher and their respective progressions, i decided to pick rancher since after watching a bunch of videos i found out you can make money super easy late game by having the shepherd skill, and a bunch of sheeps to produce wool everyday under the correct conditions, my only question is mostly like- how does this work? do i have to own the sheep or is it a farm wide buff? same thing with the increase in animal product quality, like will me and my friends sheeps produce wool everyday that also benefits from the shepherd trait's boost in animal product quality? or do i have to buy the sheeps? i know the petting bonus is not shared but what about the rest and how does it work?

They way it works is that when an item is sold overnight, the game looks through the skills of each player in the order they appear in the save file (afaik), then applies whichever highest modifier is available, and notably it does not stack them, so the one item in the game that does benefit from the stacking (the smoked fish) would only get the highest of fisher(25%)<artisan(40%)<angler(50%)

I believe animal growth-related skills are shared over the whole farm, whereas skills like lumberjack are player specific. Generally if a skill applies to an action that can't really be assigned to a single player (like having an animal in a barn on the farm) it'll apply to everyone, whereas if it's a pretty personal effect (like more wood, iridium forage items when you pick them up) it'll only apply to the player with the skill
