What to do in winter

By far winter is the most boring season can any give suggestion what can I do rather than mining and fishing

I feel like it's a good thing you don't have much to do after a busy year.

Some people use this time to decorate the farm or raise villager hearts up.

I always try to leave GI for winter since there's not much to do on the farm I'm not that worried about abandoning it for a week or something. If I leave in any other season I return to a mess of EVERYTHING that requires my attention.

I don't really do friendships in winter, I just do them whenever I don't know what to do regardless of the season. On my current farm progress is a bit slow so I have a lot of time for them. That's pretty nice actually.

Gather the wood and stone needed and build stuff on your farm. If you're in your first year, finish the first scroll found in the community center (unless you went the Joja route) and get access to the quarry.

So far I've always managed to have the greenhouse by winter. So there isn't much difference with the other seasons, except I move my sprinklers into the greenhouse.

Other than that, it's the same as any other season. Farm, mine, fish, forage, kill things and make friends.

I tend to gather a lot of wood and stone and have Robin build things in winter, too.

I tend to leave GI for winter, too, because that way I don't have crops to manage and my animals should have an autofeeder. So I can just spend the winter there, like the SV version of Ibiza (or Cancun if you're on the other side of the pond).

I use winter to officially rearrange the farm and move planned fields and such around. In the rest of the year it's enough work just to keep crops going in the fields I cleared, and figure out if the barn and etc are too far away; in winter, I switch it up based on what worked or did not in the whole last year.

I do longer runs in Ginger Island, if open, and in the caves/desert.

Usually, what I do in winter is set things up. Like tree sap farms or sprinkler layouts, I also use the time to make artisan equipment.

But... Sometimes I also just sleep through the season lol-

Considering Winter Year 1:

• Grow Powdermelons and Fiber
• Finish the Mines if you haven't already
• Catch all the Winter Fish
• Redesign your farm to plan for Spring and the following year
• Give gifts you've been saving all year
• Finish CC bundles:

The Vault (to get to the Desert Festival and your new wife in Spring!)
Winter Forage
Construction
Exotic Foraging
Animal
Artisan (if you have the Bat Cave)
Any Fish Bundle you missed
Crab Pot
The entire Boiler Room

And last and MOST:

Plant 15-25 (Blue) Grass Starters on Winter 28 to get that free Grass BOOOOOM that only happens the following day so your animals can feed themselves for free for the next 3 seasons. This saves you sooooo much time and energy, just keep your Barn and Coop open from Spring thru Fall. Year 2 is a piece of cake!

Do you not find any of the other activities in the game relaxing or is it just farming?
Crystal Fruit farming can be tedious but rewarding for a slow season, makes great artisan goods.
