1.6 Update What happened in your game today?

Done a few more days. Had to miss the first day of an Extended Family quest because I forgot that I had to harvest the diamonds and mushrooms. Caught 8 Legend II on the remaining two days, and let the kegs on Ginger Island slip another day...

Have been busy completing a major grind part in another game, and getting a couple of days of SDV has been my reward for enduring the mind-numbing boredom. The song title "My Days Have Been So Wondrous Free" comes to mind even though my save in SDV had me running around from chore to chore, because it didn't tie me up for irl hours on end doing one single task.

I have so far cleaned up most of my earlier farms. I'm currently working on my Wilderness farm. It is working fine, though - not much adjustment needed.

I'll probably finish Winter on this farm later today and move on to the Four Corners farm. So far that's the one I like best, although the Beach farm surprised me. It's way better than I thought it would be.

Rowan realised it was time to do their first venture into town for the Spring. Good timing; it was pouring so they didn't need to track down the cat or water the crops where they had yet to set up sprinklers, and all the chickens and cows and even the hedgehogs and otter* were easy to reach indoors. So they braced themselves, and begged Robin for a well since they'd moved their main planting area down onto the beach and far from fresh water. They also gave Emily an apricot, got a whole lot of geodes broken, and added a bunch of items to the museum, as well as buying the largest backpack possible.

On the way, they noticed one of the items on the big bulletin board would run the rest of the month and could be fulfilled; they just needed a LOT more potato seeds. At this point, being overwhelmed a bit by having to talk to people, they went off to the secret woods to finally deliver that weird sweet berry they've had since fall. Late at night they finally remembered they'd completely missed going to the community centre, so snuck through the farm and up the more private road, instead of through town, so they wouldn't have any chance of running into anyone else by accident.

The next morning, in thankful solitude (Other than Robin's banging about where the well should be, but Robin respected folks trying to get work done, and didn't appreciate her own labour being interrupted for anything less than a ripe peach either) they mostly fired the ore they'd gained from breaking geodes, and planted a lot of potatoes, and watched the beaver* splashing and playing in the stream as soon as he'd had a petting from the farmer. They also planted one significant flower patch**, in hopes of a Giant Bloom. So far they'd had no luck doing a dedicated patch with melons, or pumpkins, or powdermelons, but maybe this season would be the first.

They sat in the pottery, then, and made a few more porcelain cups*. They would achieve their goal of a complete tea set. They just would.

* obviously a mod.
** from a mod with a couple of of extra giant crops.

Gave Pierre his old stock list. A stock list he once possessed and then lost. A stock list that enabled him to stock seeds regardless of season, a profound competitive edge against Joja Mart. A stock list that is somehow in a vending machine in Mr. Qi's secret lair. Another reason to hate Qi. (And no, I don't have to like Pierre to hate Qi for stealing from him and then fencing the stuff to the farmer).

Still working on my flower garden (I want my flowers color-coordinated but also actually growing, so I have to keep replanting until I get the color flower I want in the right place). I'm about halfway there. Also working on filling the quarry with crystallariums (so ... constant deconstruction of treasure hunters and staircases going on) for completeness and lots of pretty 😍. In the meantime, I went to the Night Market and bought 3 of the last 4 Lupini paintings (I seem to be missing one from a previous year ... hmmm...). Put them in my display shed, which actually works out - unfortunately the shed is one tile width shy of accommodating all 9 paintings, grrrr. So I'll have to put the last one in the house. Eh.

My headcanon of the stock list is that Abigail stole the stock list, partially out of spite after a family argument. The Wizard accepted it as payment for dying her hair with that machine in his basement. The Wizard then sold it to Qi for whatever reason.

ETA: Qi just thought the return could spark an interesting scene between the farmer and Pierre, which is why he bought it and put it as one of the items to buy for his gems.

My own theory is that it crawled into Lewis' hand while he was "collecting taxes," perhaps to make Pelican Town more attractive to JojaMart. Qi made him an offer he couldn't refuse, and sells it back to the farmer because, by the time the farmer reaches GI, the matter of whether Joja stays or leaves is settled.
