I picked up the game again and Onett farm has been upgraded! Finally have my bomber jacket since I upgraded my barn and got a sheep. Maxed out the rest of the barn with cows too. A auto grabber was installed. I reached farming level 10. I started putting down a setup to make wine. 10 kegs rn but obviously I'm gonna expand. It's a bit obnoxious to replant but whatever. I got the telephone and a new TV. Final backpack upgrade too. Upgraded all my tools to steel and pickaxe to gold. Completed the Joja Community forum and got a vending machine. My coal supply was filled by the Quarry and yeah business is good. Bought some books mainly Way of the Wind Pt1 and also Horse The Book. Bought some new rings as well. Reached combat level 10 as well. I haven't attempted a serious Skull Caverns run yet but hopefully in the future. Onett farm has 400+ crops now counting the greenhouse and 300+ without it. The greenhouse is fleshed out with Starfruit of course. I built a shed to house the kegs.

Just got the game. I started a basic farm but the game is a bit complex.
That's true. The basics are pretty straight-forward, as is just about all the mechanics. There's just a lot of them. I think eventually you'll find that there's more that you want to do than there's time in a day to do it in, forcing you to choose what to focus on in any given day. Or at least that's what I've found. You might be the type to take it easy and just do what you feel like doing. I think it's a good thing that there's lots of different things to do, and multiple layers of goals. Keeps the game interesting longer.

Lucky... I've never been able to get an auto-petter. I don't do SC runs enough to get them.
I mainly go to the Skull Cavern to reach the monster hunter goals, but boost my luck somewhat and hope to get a few treasure rooms too. I think I got one in two of my earlier saves. Maybe in one of the saves that I ended up deleting too. I seem to remember getting one from a monster in the dangerous mines (resulting in a "what did it drop?!" reaction), one other from a treasure room in the Skull Cavern, and maybe one from a gold mystery box.

Monster Hunter goals are easy to complete but some of them are such a pain. I can't get the courage to do the dust sprite goal lmaoo.

The dust sprite goal requires more persistence than courage. I get it fairly early on, both to get my hands on the burglar's ring and the coal they drop. They do drop a few more decent items, but coal's what I need the most of. I think the usefulness of the ring and the coal is why that goal was set to 500. This save's been the first one where I haven't had coal as a frequent limiting factor when crafting.

Went to the Skull Cavern and reached the monster hunter goal for pepper rexes with the first one killed. Then I got a "best" luck day, with that special background, so I grabbed a magic rock candy and went to the Skull Cavern to see if I could get an auto-petter for the barn too. Found 6 treasure rooms before floor 100. 20 eggplant seed, orange sapling, 4 quality sprinklers, dark cowboy hat, auto-grabber, and 3 iridium bars. Then 10 bombs on floor 100. Figured I might as well go a bit deeper before resetting, and then I got it on floor 103 or thereabouts. Kept going after that, but more to gather iridium ore (still got 5 artifact troves, a second auto-grabber, and a basilisk paw before the magic rock candy effect vanished), and took the bus home at midnight so I'd have time to put my big find in the barn.

More than halved my stack of staircases and kept me from making use of the last day of blackberry season, but it was worth it. Now I'll only have to make sure to pet any new animals and let those with maxed friendship make do with the autopetter. I'll still pet those that are close enough, but I won't chase them down.

Second child born and already starting to be active, and over in the barn my 5th ostrich hatched. Two spaces left in the barn. Seems like I need to make a few treasure totems and go hunting for golden animal crackers on Ginger Island, since I now have 3 ostriches that I haven't been able to provide with one. Just went to the Spirit Eve festival for the golden pumpkin.

Have been planting fiber seeds to replace the harvested crops on the last few days of fall, more because I at one point thought it fun to turn all my mixed seeds into fiber seeds, so now I feel obliged to grow them. Winter's a good time to do that. For fun, I decided to do something with the pineapple seeds that have been accumulating, so I made garden pots, deluxe retaining soil, and planted them at the entrance to the mine.

The Golden Clock is now all that's between me and Perfection on this save, and I'm about 70% towards being able to afford it. Technically I could get waivers for it, but I prefer to not give that much money to Joja, and not having to worry about weeds and debris. Though Sebastian might miss the weeds, considering how Robin commented on his ashtray smelling weird...

I've been doing work again! Upgraded the house to the final upgrade. Got myself the Junimo Catalogue. I also expanded the wine operation to 30 kegs in the shed. I hate alcohol more than anyone on these forums BUT I'm also money hungry (Hence why I like Morris.)So I'm aiming to get 50 kegs by Y3. Ginger Island boat is fixed. Bought the Lava Katana. Blew about 10K on rings to fill my dresser. 30k on hats. Now I need more pants. Got my guy Harvey to 8 hearts but I'm not gonna romance him yet. Need to consider my choices. I'm rich now so I buy beer for Pam whenever I hit the saloon at night and also coffee for Harvey. I can afford basically anything sold in shops now. Haven't finished the museum yet but close.

Krobus said my sweat smelled nice.
Krobus I love you but you’re nasty.
That can be a thing among humans too. I think it generally leads to longer-lasting relationships if the two don't have to hide the smell of their sweat all the time.

I can't imagine Krobus smelling all that good though. Maybe he smells the best when he's been eating horseradish. Worst when he's been using void mayonnaise as moisturizer.

Krobus smells awful probably.

Today (well, yesterday, technically), I learned that doing Qi's cuisine on 50% profit is extremely annoying and quite possibly not worth the qi gem reward.
That's the only one of his Quests, which is easy for me, cause I always stack lots of Coffeebeans & Coffee or flour, so I usually don't have to buy them 😏

You could also stock up on the mussels from the mussel nodes on Ginger Island, and use them for sashimi. It seems like the tiny kitchen in that farmhouse doesn't recognize those mussels as fish so it can't be turned into sashimi there, but once brought to the main farmhouse it can. Or maybe it's just a mobile thing and other platforms lack that limitation. I've got almost 300 of those little guys waiting in my fish chest.

I finally got off the procrastination wagon and spent a day processing my beans. Had to run the big shed almost 3 times before being able to turn the kegs over to fruit again. Now I'm ready for another round of Qi's Cuisine.

Now that you mention it, I've never bothered with Qi's Cuisine on any of my 25% profits farms. But my ears perk up at the prospect of an issued challenge, so I guess I'll just load up an old farm and do it then :)
Mini-quest complete! Step 1 was to sell a bunch of stuff so that I had enough money. Then I bought 6,667 Flour from Pierre.
Step 2 was to sleep a few dozen times until Qi's Cuisine popped up, cook my Flour into Bread, ship it, and sleep again, completing the quest.

But the important part is that, in the process, I located my Legendary Fish! I thought I lost them or sold them or something, but they were INSIDE of a Fish Tank which was INSIDE of a Chest! I'm so glad I found them! ^.^

Reached Perfection for Riverland! :check: *rolls dice* Seems like Forest farm is up next. That means courting Leah, since I feel she'd be the perfect spouse for that farm. Now that I know bushes on the farm can be removed with an upgraded axe, it will be a lot easier to place buildings, which was one reason I gave up on that farm back in August when I was still learning how things worked.
