Hi, I've had this issue for a couple of years now, but figured it wasn't really a big issue since I can still play fine.
But returning to the game the past week, it's started to give me headaches...

The issue:
While I play, almost every 15- 20 seconds, my screen glitches. I skip a few frames, and then I can take a few more steps before the frame skip happens again. I feel like it's been happening more and more, and I'm not sure how to fix it. I've redownloaded the game, checked my computer settings, but nothing has helped.
I play Stardew on an old laptop, ever since launch really. It used to play just fine, so I'm not sure it's a hardware thing. But, it is an old machine, so I thought I should mention it.
I play un-modded, but I did download some new files to replace the pig models, goat models, a few other animals. But I do not run smapi. I've tried to remove these mods and check if the glitch happens, but it still happens.
I'd love to play the game without the frame skipping ;_; it's hard on my eyes and does result in some errors, especially during combat. Maybe it is a setting I need to update on my laptop. Or maybe my laptop graphics card is dying...either way...
If anyone knows how I can fix this, I would be so grateful!
