Issue Unable to obtain the exe. file on Steam Deck

I was recently given an already modded steam deck and have tried to install SMAPI on it. However, no matter what method I attempt, it stays as a dll file. This also goes for the original Stardew application as well, with the closest change I've gotten was switching to Proton, where the original application turned into an exe. file . I don't know if I have to convert it, reset the device, or have completely missed a solution. Any information would be great.

I did! Although from what I remembered I just had to reset the steam deck. It is possible the issue was the device being modded, and the applications that came with it but I can't confirm that.
