This 14 year old Reddit Post about Stardew Valley is an interesting read!

This was made in 2012… I think the very first versions of Stardew Valley been released? I think there are trailers of the original game online still, it looks very different from the game we have now.

But were there any before 2016?

Its funny looking at what people thought back then. Also the first comments under the game's old trailer are way more positive, though people are pointing out the similarities to Harvest Moon too.
why do I sound like AI summary-

I watched this 10th anniversary video for stardew and it had some clips of what stardew was supposed to be, "Sprout Valley". I personally like stardew better.

Because you are one?
Oh right! I forgot. Your habits are truly rubbing off to me.

Thanks for the reminder, I'll have to rewatch that too for better idea of what old Stardew was like... The only thing I remember from that video is that the mines were weird.

The game came out in 2016, but it was in development for like, 4-5 years so this post was when it was early in development/shown on Steam for the first time

boy has it come a long way (understatement). it's really interesting to see what people thought about it
