When using my controller I noticed that my game would freeze when taking damage in the mines and noticed other people having this problem.
My fix that I found was switching to joystick controls. Then unplugging my controller, taking one hit of damage then plugging my controller back in. This will not make you crash for the rest of your session.
If you restart your game you will have to go through the same process of unplugging your controller, taking one hit of damage and then plugging your controller back in to not crash again.
I am using the usb in the glove box and have not been able to test the usb c ports in the center console yet or to see if this fix also works with fishing.
Let me know if any of you have found any better fixes.
