Switch Switch lag (NON co-op/split screen)

Stardew on my switch has been lagging severely for months. Since I picked the game back up a few months after the new update released on console, it began lagging to the point of being unplayable. I have a very detailed farm and am at 9 years in the game BUT I tried on a new save file (with a different farm type!) and the same thing happened. I don't play co-op or split screen. This started months ago, I stopped playing for a while to see if it would be fixed but it has only gotten worse. My switch is really old but other games work fine on it. Is my game just completely bricked now? Any ideas?

I have switch version (1.6.15.3). The lag at some points are game breaking. I play alot of different files with my kids. Split screen and non split screen the game freezes/lags. Eventually if we keep playing, it'll lead to a crash. Disappointing the kids as they need to restart the day and lose their progress. Switch is non modded and does not have heat issues.

Yes, I have lag issues on my switch. It happens up to 5 times every day I’d say but only lasts less than a second so it doesn’t affect much (unless I’m fishing). Every time I’m worried it’s gunna crash because it has so many times, but other than that the lag I’m experiencing isnt too bad. Used to it.
