Windows Stuck on loading screen after opening save

I’ve run through the usual tech support threads and hit a bit of a wall. I’m running windows 10 on a 64 bit system, I am using no mods (let me know if you need more info)
The game takes a long time to launch, showing on steam that it is ‘running’ but no game window opens until about five minutes or more. When I select the save, it gets stuck on the loading screen, the little dots still move but the cursor is gone and I can’t exit out of the game without restarting the computer

I’ve had on and off issues with the game since downloading, mainly failing to launch, but it had been running fine for several consecutive days

The issue was temporarily resolved by some random combination of troubleshooting steps, but I’m straight back to the same issue after my computer updated. Endless, inescapable loading screen, so far no combination of deleting, restarting, framework downloading ect has yielded any result
What do I even do from here? Is there somewhere else I should be asking? I’ve gotten no help or response from here
