Strange Doll question

I'm doing something and I need a bunch of Strange Dolls. How do people who try to collect 999 of them go about it? Does anybody know?

I haven't attempted to collect 999 of them, but so far as I am aware (and double-checking the SDV Wiki), the two most 'farmable' ways of going after Strange Dolls in particular is to either till in the Mines or get Fishing Chests. I think tilling in the Mines would be the fastest method, even though Fishing has a higher yield compared to tilling. From https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Artifacts:

The Wiki's percentages for tilling and fishing chests aren't consistent across different pages, but these are the drop rates for both types of Strange Doll. For Ancient Dolls I'd recommend going for Artifact Troves via Ginger Island Artifact Spots.

Knowing that resource-intensive methods aren't typically an obstacle for your approaches, perhaps spamming Treasure Totems on an empty Farm would be the best method. This is part of your "full stack of every item" goal, right? Best of luck to you!

i just stick 'em in a chest whenever i get one, as for finding them, i just dig whenever the funny roots appear

Your fastest way to farm any Artifact Spot drop is to use Treasure Totems at the Beach. I'd do this and replay days if you don't get many as I was testing this strategy out for some other uses. I'll see if I can dig up (lol) my old posts as I included my drop rates on various attempts.

Here you go: Winter 21 is Groundhog Day, also known as RNG Day

Quick summary of dolls when blanketing the Pelican Town Beach in Winter (a BAD idea as Winter adds in more drops) with Artifact Spots, each is a different try:

0, 4, 0, 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1, 0, 1, 1

Yikes that's terrible, but there was 1 good day!

I would not blanket The Beach with Totems as that's terribly wasteful for a limited resource, instead look to make an optimal coverage setup in Stardew Planner to get the most tiles per Totem with fewest overlaps and follow that pattern. I did this with the Ginger Island Beach to get excellent efficiency in coverage with 14-17 Totems but I don't think I mapped that out for the Pelican Town Beach yet.

By the way, my continued Stardew Year 6 existence is mostly geared towards farming the necessary items to make Treasure Totems so this is my jam!

There's a mod where you get full access to every single item for free, but that's kinda cheating and you shouldn't cheat this sorta stuff.

Anyway, I'm glad that's over. So, does anybody have any tips for getting a bunch of Mummified Frogs? Haha

Doing the same with GI Jungle? Well, bombing probably wouldn't be that effective there, but maybe using your scythe...

Apart from the small section of jungle on Ginger Island, I've got mummified frogs from the weeds in the magic forest floors of the dangerous mines.
