Stardew Valley 1.7 Update Suggestions
Kids:
It would be nice and feel more special if the children looked a bit more like their parents and had personalities and favorite things, like Vincent and Jas. Also, it would be amazing if the babies were more interactive, so you could feed them, play with them, and bathe them, it would make them seem more like real kids. You could also give them gifts like their favorite things and they could give you gifts like toys or drawings. It would be nice if they could walk around town and have the villagers comment on how cute they are. Additionally, to have a wider experience with child characters, it would be fun for them to have a 5th stage, “little kid”, about the age of Vincent and Jas. If there were more children in Pelican Town, it would make it seem more like a real place. If I marry Shane, and he lives with me, can I adopt Jas? After all Shane is Jas’ godfather. Also, I want to adopt Leo. He is absolutely adorable. Perhaps make it so that once you have about 8 hearts with Leo, then you can adopt him? I don’t know why anybody hasn’t suggested this, but instead of having to wait for your spouse to ask you for a child, maybe you, the player, could suggest a child? Another fun improvement would be to make it so other kids can ask your kids to play. Being able to change your children’s outfits would be another great addition to make the experience more real and fun. Additionally, when your child is a toddler, if they could go to preschool, and as a little kid they could go to kindergarten. I want to adopt Vincent. Please make some way for that to be possible. I don’t know how or why you would be able to do that but I want to. Maybe it could be an easter egg you can only do if you get a certain number of hearts with at least 3 children (because if you have 2 children there are then 5 potential children in town and ideally many more). If I could adopt Jas, I’d want to put a little white princess dress on her. I also think having up to 7 kids instead of 2 and maybe even having twins and triplets would be fun. I also find it confusing that I can only adopt if I'm married to someone the same gender as me. Also a day where you pick a child at the adoption agency would be fun.
Places:
I know Stardew Valley is just supposed to be a little town but I feel like these would make it more fun.
The destinations could be in the Calico Desert, Cindersap Forest, or maybe on Ginger Island.
Characters:
Maybe make more characters you can marry, and make more children. A fun new activity in the game could be making friendship bracelets and each person you give one to can come over to your house to hang out. What if when people ask you things you can pick more than 1 answer or write your own answer? What if you could have other farmhands or npcs be your roommate? And maybe after you marry Shane he cleans his room?
Clothing
I find it kinda silly that there is a bridal veil and bridal shirt but not a bridal skirt. The people want a bridal skirt!
Also it would be fun if you could sell your clothing, especially things like the golden chestplate and golden shirt.
Accessories
Having accessories for the children like bottles, high chairs, dummies, blankets, and bunk beds would be fun. You could even have a challenge once a month to pick up all the baby and child accessories.
Gifting
What if, when you give npcs gifts you could wrap them? Before you give Jas an ancient doll, what if you could wash it for her? Before you give Evelyn broken glasses, what if you could fix them?
Other
What if there were a bunch of wild animals you had a chance to encounter in different environments? What if a character (maybe Marlon) could give a scavenger hunt list of wild animals to find, and once you found all the animals, the character could give you a special reward like a weapon, or maybe even a life elixir? There should also be a little booth that you can sell things in that is like, pulled by your horse or something would be interesting. Or if the booth were stationary you can only set it up during certain events, or if you ran it the whole time.
