I am currently playing on a Nintendo Switch and am nearing the end of year 10, in the community center I have completed the crafts room and the boiler room and I am extremely close to finishing the vault

I also have two stardrops :stardrop: :stardrop: and I'm working on getting three

If you have any advice on how to make more money, or do literally anything productive please give me your wisdom.

(by "extremely close" I mean finished every pack in the vault except for the 25k bundle)

With your setup, crafting and selling Tea Saplings may be the easiest way to get more g as you need Wild Seeds, Fiber and Wood.

You can gather Forage to make the Seeds and Fiber from other parts of the map and you'll probably not be short of Wood for a few days. Get Caroline to 2  if you haven't already (Daffodil Forage in Spring is an easy option) and visit her Tea Room thru the back door in her Kitchen on a sunny day.

You can speed up the process by planting some Wild Seeds and doing the Community Cleanup job on the Special Order board from Linus to get the Fiber Seeds recipe. With those, you'll have more g than you know what to do with. For a while at least…

Your farm is perfect. Now I usually go for almost all Grass as it's the lazy low-effort way of life but you have truly shown me the way, as to get all the Grass I need to waste time and energy cutting down Trees. This is disrespectful and a personal embarrassment, I should let Nature's own Forestry perform it's Forest Magic and not try to bend the will of the Farmland to my own personal shade of green. Forest green is Nature's way.

With some red polka-dots of course, it's not for me to judge personal style choices.

But the most important part here is that you have validated Marnie's choice not to be available for like half the week as you have rendered the quick way to her Ranch unavailable for roughly 100% of the week. Well done!

Tapper emporium? If you’ve completed the boiler room you have the mining skills to get materials for crafting them. Also, this may be the only case in which it makes sense to sell wood, although I’d stockpile a couple of stacks before testing that theory.

Also, I agree with Lew Zealand. I thought I let my first farm get tree-full but there’s something transcendent about having your own forest primeval.

lol I have 1 full stack of wood that I'm keeping for "when I might need it" but that time has yet to come
and my favorite characters are the Junimo, so maybe it says something about me

I just looked up the sale price of wood (2g per piece), and chopping wood to sell is a terrible strategy because there are so many other things you could do with your time, but I think with this many trees you might never run out, even if you give the Junimos more breathing room—in which case I recommend an axe upgrade if you haven’t already done that.

I have already upgraded my axe to steel and I'm planning on it being the first tool I fully upgrade! I mean, it's either that or my pickaxe (copper)

I have a vision for Stardew Farm, I'm gonna try to cut down a lot of the trees for space and resources (not that I need anymore wood than I already have) but I'm going to leave all of the mushroom trees because it gives the farm a vibe and goes with my forest spirit thing I gt going on, next, I want to get quite a few silos, fully upgraded coops, fully upgraded barns, and slime hutches (because why not?). I think I'm gonna start with a fully upgraded coop first because it will get me the majority of the animal products required for the animal bundle (large milk should only be a minor inconvenience because I have a barn and 3 cows) which will enable me to get the greenhouse and then PROFIT

If you're willing to expand your Farm a bit then I find I like to make a few patches of the most profitable single harvest Crops:

Spring: Rhubarb or Cauliflower
Summer: Starfruit or Red Cabbage
Fall: Pumpkin

Planted with Deluxe Speed Gro and in 24-count patches, each watered with one Iridium Sprinkler. Doesn't have to be too big as I usually have maybe 6? of these. Some people prefer Ancient Fruit but the annoyance of grinding up some for Seeds every year bothers me. Then Keg or Preserve Jar them, it's 3 mornings of work each month for a nice profit. Other people prefer to plant fast crops like Coffee and Wheat, or multiple-harvest crops like Blueberry and Cranberry. But all of those require more work for Harvesting and Keg/Jarring to realize their somewhat better profits and that's wayyy beyond my personal limit for effort. I barely tolerate those patches of 6 x 24.

When you get your Greenhouse done, you could plant some Fruit Trees inside around the perimeter and Ancient Fruit in the center and you'll get Fruit and Crops year round, even in Winter and never have to replant or seed anything. It's heaven. For color and to feel like a super-actual Farmerperson, I'll add in one each of the perpetual-harvest Crops in the Greenhouse as well:

Strawberry
Green Bean
Blueberry
Corn
Hops
Hot Pepper
Tomato
Cranberries
Eggplant
Grape
Cactus??!? This grows in soil in the Greenhouse?? I've been growing it in the Farmhouse in Pots forever. I've even planted Cactus in Pots in the GREENHOUSE!^@^&%#&^

I've been playing this game for years and just found this out!

But sometimes I tire of even those 10 individual Crops in there and just till 'em under and go monoculture Ancient Fruit. I need everything to be siiiiimple! Easy. Something I can do in my sleep as that's usually what I'm doing anyway. It important to know your limitations and go with those strengths. I can't tell you how sad I get when I see people get stressed about this game because they have to do this or that and don't have enough time. Meh, it can allllll wait, this game is just chock full of time. Take it eeeeasy!

And you know this. You Farm has spoken to me as it understands the softly spoken language of the pastoral idyll Ancient Forest.

I have the recipe for iridium sprinklers (my farming skill is at level 9) but there is one main problem: ACTUALLY GETTING THAT MUCH IRIDIUM. But thank you for the advice

This thread slowly surprisingly quickly devolved from "I'm gonna post updates of my farm and hopefully get advice" to just me getting complimented? on the forest that is my farm

Yes, if you don't like Skull Cavern (I don't), and you haven't got the Grandpa Evaluation to 4 candles then Quality Sprinklers are good. I usually get about 12 of those and start making a 3x4 tile of those 3x3 watering spots. Starting at Level 80 in the Mines you can find decent amounts of Gold Ore for those Sprinklers. An upgraded Pickaxe helps here but I'm not sure you have that yet.

There are a lot of posts here and on other platforms with beautiful, carefully designed and pathed Farm layouts which resemble Pelican Town or some other developed area. While I appreciate the effort and planning and creativity that goes into making those, I like a more naturalistic Farm presentation with lotsa Trees and Grass wherever it wants to go. Mostly because I stink at actually designing anything useful of course! And your Farm confirms something I've suspected: that the game prefers to spawn Pine Trees in the southwest and the other 2 Trees over the rest of the Farm. I thought maybe my first Farm looked like that but I didn't know about the screenshot function at the time to get the big picture.

I (as you probably know) can't access the desert (yet) and (as you probably don't know) I am at level 85 in the mines and have a stable supply of gold; coal on the other hand-

But I also do agree with you, yes all of those well-planned farms look good but do they make you feel good? but maybe that's just the Junimo in me.

BREAKING NEWS!
My Nintendo Switch is almost dead and I forgot my charger at
I'm not telling you
will I get the Sweet Gem Berry stardrop this weekend? Probably.

This was Junimo News, the number one place to get news in the valley

That is more of a forest farm than the forest farm map. Very impressive.

For a majority of my save file, my income was mostly based around mayo, cheese, and ancient fruit wine (using the greenhouse, which I made a priority to unlock as I was on the beach farm). You can make a surprising amount of money by raising chickens, since you only need to buy one to get started. I think many people also overlook cows as another steady source of daily income. While animals and their products are definitely outclassed by wine, the daily return from chickens and cows is forever and adds up over time.

I do not recommend raising many pigs unless you clear a large area for them to search. I found out the hard way that if the farmland is packed to the gills with Stuff, the pig has less of a chance to dig up truffles. They need bare ground without grass, trees, or crops growing on it.

I’ve been thinking about downloading SDV on my phone, but how to play in a way that lets me put it down and then pick up again. Now I’m thinking about a forager/forester/Rip van Winkle run: do the minimum necessary to get axe upgraded to steel, sleep until the farm becomes forest, and see where it takes me…
Like I need to be spending more time on Stardew Valley.
