SMAPI update issues

Hiii,
Could someone please help me? I'm having problems with SMAPI.
I've updated it like 5 times now and it still says its incompatible with certain mods, I also looked at the code and saw that it was still on version 4.1.7 instead of 4.2.1
It would be very much appreciated if someone could help me :)

Unfortunately, there isn’t any info in your Smapi log regarding errors. Was the game closed when you uploaded the log in the parser?

this may sound a little lame but have you removed any and all previous versions of Smapi (including uninstalling for good measure), deleted said previous versions folders and then reinstalling? This has happened to me before where I install from a previous version rather than the latest one…

also regarding the mods themselves, have you manually downloaded them? I’ve seen a lot of people say that mod managers screw up the files thus rendering the mods useless or even creating duplicates in the mods folder. If so delete all previous mod files in your mod folder then manually add the ones you want and know are compatible with the latest version of Smapi (check compatibility in the Smapi website)
