Slime that gives you money without parrot trinket?!?

Hi everyone!

1st Spring, Year 1 (Sat 27th)
I was gathering iron in the mines and progressing down the levels and on level 64 or so I encountered a bigger bunch of slimes. One of them was yellow - bright yellow.

First I thought nothing of it, yellow slimes exist so I just started getting rid of them to find the damn stairs right AND when I finished the yellow one off - IT DROPPED MONEY !!!! About 250 G or so. I was so in shock I was not paying much attention.

I know this is quite normal once you have the trinket parrot egg, but I DO NOT! Just me, my Iron Edge and Combat level 3.
I am bamboozled. Has this ever happened to anyone? Or is it some sort of glitch or even better an easter egg?

Yep. Those golden slimes do give you gold. 0.1% chance of a slime being that color though. More often when they appear yellow, they drop gold ore.

The gold ones can be be "special" too (with a little star above their head). I've only ever encountered one once. Sorry, I don't seem to have a picture :/

I had this just once happen during my last Skull Cavern Run. Didn't see the colour of the slime, it was hidden in s corner, but when I killed it, dropped money, Idk how much it was.
But I often see slimes with that yellow sign above their heads, these usually have some better loot...

The special slimes with better loot aren't always yellow; they have the little star antenna. You can also get good loot from other monsters, but there is no visual indicator to let you know which ones they are. I take that as an excuse to whack everything that moves.
