Sending Mail to Townspeople

Probably already suggested a lot before, but what if you could send mail to NPCs?

You could unlock special letter backgrounds, type messages, and attach a gift. All of the letters you send being saved in the letters menu.

The point of this, would be the next day NPCs gain friendship points based off the gift, although slightly less points as you aren't giving it to them in person. NPCs do not gain any points if 2 gifts were already given for that week.
Any letters would count as talking to the NPC for that day, even if the letter had no gift.

A big QoL feature of mail, would be sending quest items to npcs, which would complete the quest that day. (Even though letters are sent the next day.)

This basically removes the time and hassle of hunting down npcs to give gifts or complete quests, and adds a little more life into the game by having your own personalized letters to NPCs.
It could even work in multiplayer where you write a personal letter for another friend on the farm!

That's one I wish we had--I would love to be able to drop the quest item in the NPC's mailbox even if that meant that I had to wait a couple of days for the payment (NPC gets it the next day, sends the payment that day, then the PC gets it the day after).

Plus, that increased amount of mail delivery could be tied to part of the in-game story. Maybe after Joja closes up, Shane could take up a job delivering mail, possibly even speeding up that mail-based quest turnaround by 1 day afterwards. You could see him walking around the town and on rare occasion if it's slow day, spending his lunchtime in the Saloon. Just taking it easy, nothing special, and he could actually refuse a Beer gift if he was on the clock.
