PlayStation PS4 save files not recognised on PS5

Hi,

I have same problem, I just bought PS5 and I want to sold my old PS4 where i had disc version. I want to sold disc version with PS4 so I just buy digital version of Stardew Valley on PS5 and tried to copy saves PS4->PS5 but doesnt work on PS5 (can not find saves from PS4 even i copied it on PS5) - EU version - Slovakia PS store...everything updated to last patch 1.66 (PS4 disc version and PS5 digital version)

I donated developers with 2 copies of game (disc and digital) so I hope that they can fix this :)

Before finding your post I saw some others elsewhere on the internet from people that are asking about the same issue, some from a couple of years ago!

I reckon most just accepted that they had to start again

But hey… if a patch can’t get worked out… it’s full embrace on acceptance

Hey everyone,
My wife has been playing for 2 years on our PS5. I bought a PS5 pro and no matter what I try, I cannot transfer her saved game from the first PS5 to the PS5 pro. I’ve done all of the things mentioned prior…
-USB drive
-PSN network
Not sure if this matters but I am the main account holder for the PS5’s and my wife has a different account that doesn’t pay for PS Plus. She was able to save her game fine on the old PS5 so why wouldn’t it transfer to the new PS?

I assume you must have read this thread but just in case you haven't:

What format (disc/digital) did your wife play on the PS5?

What format is your wife playing on the PS5 pro?

Thanks for the information! I'm paraphrasing from the porting team, so the following explanation is probably a little inaccurate.

It seems the likely issue here is that there are two versions of the Europe (SIEE) region: one newer version, and one older version that existed prior to 2021. The disk version of the game that you both own is on that older SIEE version, while the digital copy is on the newer SIEE version. Because of this, PlayStation recognizes the two as different games/titles, hence why it isn't loading the save data.

Good news, though! The porting team said that they can work on a patch that allows for loading saves from other regions/titles. Unfortunately, I'm not aware at this time how long that process will take, but it is on our radar now.
