PlayStation PS4 emotes wheel behaving strangely

Hi I just looked up how to do emotes because I couldn't figure out how and went to try it.

Firstly the emotes worked but using the upmost emote which was a thumbs up gives a musical note on display and a chime (not the full 'music' emote). I assume that may be incorrect? Especially as I change out the thumbs up for something else and it still does the same thing at first. The emote to the left of it I also tried changing out and it defaulted to the music note and a chime. Pointing in another direction then turning to the emote sometimes fixed the issue, but generally seems to be a bit of a bug going on there.

Also the directly down emote (default set as thumbs down) was always displaying as an X when used. Which from what I can tell is for the X emote not the thumbs down.
