Solved No progress towards Monster Eradication Goals and no Combat XP from monsters killed on Farm [Windows]

From what I can tell, monsters, at least Slimes and Bats, killed on the farm don't count towards Monster Eradication Goals and the Slimes can't count for Initiation. I've been trying to see how much of Perfection is possible without leaving the farm, and in my testing it doesn't seem to be counted. I've done 2 farm only runs and am currently doing another and had noticed as I saw mentioned here before the issue of no Combat XP from monsters killed on farm. I've tried searching the Wiki and just now the Forum, so apologies if this is retread ground. I'm not sure this is a bug, I think it might just be a lesser known feature, but I'd like to see if any of y'all have come across this and if it is an issue.

FYI the Wiki mentions that no XP is gained from Farm monsters:

Relevant quote:

"...Monsters killed on the farm do not grant combat experience."

So then, what is the purpose of having a slime hutch? I just want to know. I am thinking of tearing down my slime hutch because even though slimes hate us and want to kill us, I feel like Hannibal Lectar when I go in there and kill all their babies. The slimes are all quiet and procreating, and then the farmer comes in and commits genocide on their children, and the slimes get all angry and distressed. It is just not in alignment with how I see myself! I feel bad!

I haven't come up with a great gameplay reason for the Slime Hutch other than for decoration or role playing purposes. I have one save which is completely Slime themed so have loads of Hutches and Slimejack Ponds but other than that they're not particularly profitable. Some people like to breed them to make different colored ones but yeah I'd rather just dye a bunch of Shirts 'n Skirts the same colors and make a Shed display instead.

However there's another angle to Slime Farming which is not available anywhere else in the game. It's best if you have a Slime Charmer ring as the Slimes then just become overeager leg-clingy cats that fail to trip you, try as they might. Keep the Watering Troughs filled and check in your Hutch every other week or so.

The sound of breaking and gathering up all those Slime Balls is not something to be trifled with and you can't get quite that level of aural satisfaction anywhere else in the game. The only thing that comes close is scything up a large field of Fiber.

Both are a veritable feast for the ears.

Did the Wiki change because it now says “Monsters killed on the farm grant less combat experience than monsters killed elsewhere.”

Less as in nothing or less as in a reduced amount like half?

Also is it possible to get iridium golems to spawn on any farm map with the “Spawn monsters on the farm” box checked at in the advanced settings at the beginning of the game, or does it only apply to the wilderness farm?

I’d like to encounter wilderness golems in my farm (also iridium ones) then later turn them off with a certain witch’s shrine. (Just to be able to fight every monster in the game for the sake of completion).

Yes, when you scroll down to history, it shows
The way it’s stated in the wiki, wilderness golems spawn on all farms but iridium golems are only on the wilderness farm.

Killing wild bats and slimes on the farm did give combat XP and count towards the eradication goal when I tried it in 1.6.9. See the attached screenshots, which show the data in Lookup Anything after killing one bat and one slime.

However:
  • Monsters on the farm don't count towards quests and special orders currently.
  • Slimes inside a slime hutch and children of mating slimes elsewhere don't give XP or count towards eradication goals.
(I added that info to the wiki.)

Are you sure because I’m sort of confused because Serpent monsters are said to appear at normal farms at night if you are lvl 10+ combat and you have monsters clicked on at the start of the game (according to the wiki).

“If the player is Combat Level 10, Serpents can spawn on the Wilderness farm by default.

—->This is true for any farm type if the player has activated the Dark Shrine of Night Terrors or enabled monsters in advanced options when starting a new game. Serpents slain on the Farm will only yield 1/3 of their normal experience points.[2]”<——

Is more research needed or is it just a wiki inaccuracy as other monsters are listed there too along with iridium golems, bats of all sorts and shadow brutes.

🤔

Has anybody encountered iridium golems or the monsters in the wiki list (like serpents, frost bats etc.) when a normal farm has monsters toggled on?
