MULTIPLAYERS CAN DATE ONE NPC AT THE SAME TIME??!

So no one is gonna talk about this?! My friend and I just gave Penny a bouquet, and now she's OUR girlfriend. I know this $hjt actually happens irl, but all the marriage candidates are supposed not to be like that right?. Can you guys give me a solution to deal with this (before getting fixed), ngl this is bothering me so much lol. (ノ｀Д´)ノ彡┻━┻

If you purchase a bouquet and place it in a furnace, it will give you a wilted bouquet. You can use this to break up with someone, although be aware you will lose several hearts with them.

Well, you can date several NPCs (even all of them), so I think it's only fair they can date several players.

I believe if one of you married her, that would also solve it.

My irl girlfriend and I have discovered something by accident regarding this - because we wanted to see if it was possible, both her and my player characters started going out with Emily, which she accepted both times. Because I’d already maxed Emily out, I was able to get the Mermaid pendant first and proposed - three days later, the ceremony happens and Emily and I are married.
Here’s the kicker: afterwards, my girlfriend discovered that, despite my being first, she was somehow married to Emily as well, and with the bouquet icon, whereas mine has the mermaid pendant! Might be a bug, but it made us laugh so much about how Emily apparently picked both of us. We’re too afraid to test it out, but she thinks that if she divorces Emily, then I will end up divorcing her as well

Are y'all certain that your girlfriend's character is actually married to Emily? The bouquet icon would suggest she isn't. If so, it is a bug.
