Junimos, always. Because in the introduction of the game I (the player actually) was working for Joja and how do they treat their employees, just to leave everything that I have in the city and start a life in the farm? For me they are the "antagonists" of the story.
And I think that way makes the player interact with most of the activities that you can do in game.
Finally, I believe that local commerce it's what helps a community, it keeps the money circulating with the "workers", unlike big companies were money just goes high to the men in suits and they just accumulate it without a reasonable reason.

I usually do the community center because I like doing the little fetch quests that make me engage with different parts of the game.

I think Joja is good if you want to limit yourself to parts of the game. E.g. if you only leave the farm once per months or do mining only, you can still get the money for Joja.

I completed Joja once on a “the legendary should be the first fish I catch” run, where I tried to level my fishing skill with crab pots and fish ponds. I lost interest before I got to level 10, but I completed the warehouse.

Joja.

1) Pierre is rude+greedy, so having some competition to keep him in check is useful.
2) Villagers don't change schedule, so you won't need to specifically go out of your way to hunt for them, on menial tasks (ex gifting).
3) Movie Theater lies in a more convenient place overall.
4) Clint isn't closed on Fridays (or was it Sundays?), anymore.
5) Cheaper sunflower seeds.
6) Joja mart is open, all the way to 23:00 pm; no longer hasty shopping, to early noon at best.
7) You DON'T miss out on bundles and/or their rewards, since you can selectively turn Joja at any point (means, you can first complete all bundles you want, collect their rewards, then proceed with the finishing touch of aggressive joja buyout on missing community upgrade). You can even complete all bundles and turn joja, right before collecting the final bundle in the community center.
8) Junimos don't mind and neither they are affected, nor the story, at all. They are still obedient and servile, in their cutesy, tiny hutsies.
9) Morris at the peak displays some reflection on past ways and promising hints, of "character development". He even admits the valley grew up on him, despite thinking poorly of it, at first.
10) Most villagers, receive you extremely poorly, at the beginning, some of them borderline offensively, even. Lewis is completely unscrupulous and scummy, especially so if you pull a prank (throw his undies in Luau soup, during which he attacks verbally, all community members).

Last but not least, joja route gives us the chance to take back our "blood", from the initial bad deal we got, while working for them (in the intro). We become something like an "investor" of sorts (despite collecting back almost nothing).

P.S. And their trophy for reaching perfection, produces cola daily, unlike the junimo cap which does nothing!

I've never done Joja, not even once. It doesn't tempt me in the least. They are the greedy, impersonal, faceless corporation, where people literally work themselves to death. It is what we want to get away from. And I'd love that outside of the game too.

I also question their food, cause Shane sends me pizzas he stole from Joja, and it's been years since they closed down. I let Lewis handle the mysterious ingredients, instead of my stomach.

I think it's much more rewarding to do community center and I am NOT a Pierre hater so maybe all you Pierre haters can go here

I prefer the community route, but I am intending at least two Joja route farmers (Though one is modded, so my reasons are a bit different). You can argue corporation vs. Pierre all day, but for me it's also a bit more amusing gameplay; barring starting a farmer with specific challenges (No fishing, no leaving the farm except on Sundays, building a dedicated winery, or the like), it feels more interactive to plan crops, fishing, etc, around the demands of the community centre than it does planning just "get a bunch of money and pay." Which is also why the vault room is my least favourite room to complete. I want to NOT be thinking in terms of how much money I make; that way leads to a farm covered in nothing but barns of pigs and an island with a monocrop of weird blue fruit. Which, you know, it's Goals for some, but it's never been how I play.

Well put, and those aspects I enjoy as well. It is more exciting to slowly get this or that item, in different seasons. And not least the big unknown factor of red cabbage. Also gives me a reason to check out the traveling cart every Friday and Sunday. Likewise with the bat cave (I always choose this). It's fun to find a pomegranate for example in there, when I need it.

Even when ignoring the big evil corporation factor, I simply find the community centre route more engaging.

Agree about the vault room too, it's a bit lame. Having every bundle like that would be boring to me, then it's just about money, and that comes at some point anyway. Enjoy the ride, and try to go slow.

The above is probably why I prefer to go to skull cavern level 100 the honest way too, with no stairs (OK, maybe one for a bad monster floor). That way it feels like I interact with the game's mechanics, and the rewards feel earned.

Okay, i'll bite. In what regard, is the Community route more "rewarding"?

A number of convenient outcomes, come from Joja route. What are the gains of community???
I mean, let's see, doing the crafts room will net you 30 of each season's wild seeds, a charcoal kiln, and 5 autumn bounties. Doing the pantry will net you 20 speed gro, a quality sprinkler, a bee house, a preserves jar, a cheese press, and a keg. Etc, etc, etc. It's not a lot but it's a heck of a lot better than a single daily joja cola.

And then there's 2 hearts with every single non-dateable villager. That's like over a hundred loved gifts all by itself. Even if you don't care about the villagers themselves it's quicker access to friendship-locked recipes, free mail gifts down the road, and you'll need to get those hearts if you're going for perfection anyway.

Also, Pierre's is cheaper than Joja so it being open on Wednesdays is a very small perk but it is a perk.

And the movie theater is closer to the mine cart at the Joja location, so personally speaking I find that placement more convenient.

And sure, Pierre has his moments, but Morris gives everyone in town but you a 50% off coupon. Even if you buy a membership for 5000 gold he still overcharges you! Obviously he needs to be destroyed.

1) You can complete as many bundles as you wish, right before turning joja. Not missing a single reward, if you time it correctly, too (turn in the final bundle, right after purchasing joja membership). Bundles and their respective rewards, aren't community path "exclusives". Joja cola in bulk, is also useful for a Mr. Qi quest, late game (repeatable).

2) Once again, you can complete the associated bundles from community centre Board for friendship, right before going joja. Full bonus applies, you even get the relative email (thanks from villagers) later, still.

3) If you go joja, they have same prices and sunflower seeds are cheaper at Joja, still!

4) This one is subjective, really. But even aesthetically, it seems way more cool or rad, during the Golden Pumpkin event, at autumn!

As for Morris, i don't like him either. But i still like Pierre, less...

P.S. For me, the greatest benefit though, is that villagers don't change schedule and Clint doesn't close shop, for 1 day per week.
