Lots and lots of trash and ghost fish later you get ta dah….1 single cave jelly. Luck buff maybe but I have had more luck with the training rod. Don’t know why maybe cause it can’t catch much else, including the cave fish?

Worth a shot. I know there is actually a strategy to use the training rod somewhere at some time to increase the chance for getting - I think seaweed? Because all available fish are too high level to be caught with the training rod, so you only catch seaweed and trash.

Ocean fishing, especially on beach farm. It’s also excellent for that first year or more when you live off of sashimi once you get the recipe from Linus. You can catch algae for algae soups too Clint and Marnie I believe or save for fish ponds later. I usually just eat them while fishing for sashimi fish…then regret it later when I have money for things such as fish ponds.😆

Use bamboo pole, get as more luck buff as you can. To the mine lv100, throw the fishing rod as short as possible.. That will increase the chance you get trash, meanwhile you can get more cave jelly.

I know it's probably not the most efficient method, but I keep all the "Jewels of the Sea" books that I find and trade them off for Cave Jelly at the Bookseller whenever they are available. After all, getting 3 Jellies for a book that I can find whenever I go about my in-game day is way more pleasant than fishing in a cave all day.

You can get cave jelly from any of the fishing floors in the mines, but I usually get more on floors 60 and 100. Too many fish on floor 20, I guess. 🙂 I usually take the bait off my rod and cast short if I'm aiming for jellies.

You can also get cave jelly from lava eel fish ponds on your farm. They give 1-5 pieces, usually starting low and increasing over time. You can give them a golden animal cracker to double the amount. I just got a stack of ten from my lava eels this way on my current farm.
