Personally what I want most is a way to slow time in the game and make the days last longer. I know this isn’t a feature for everyone but that’s why it would be optional, and I also know that there are concerns about it letting players finish the game early but that’s why I think it would make for a great end game only feature. For example, a hard to get item you can only get after you finish the Community Center or Joja’s, like the Gold Clock.
I know that tons of players would love a feature like this, myself included :) And there are so many players who have stopped playing who would come back for this, I have taken long breaks because of the fast days too. It would just go a very long way to making the game more relaxing and immersive for many of us ^^ Taking the time to go to the bathhouse, explore, enjoy the scenery, or role play is skipped so much because of how fast time flies, and although it’s good for certain play styles it’s not for others. And a lot of us, like me, play on console where we can’t use mods (though maybe someday), and a lot people understandably aren’t comfortable using mods.
I also know that some people think it would be hard to implement but I really don’t think it would be. I think a couple good examples are games like the newest Harvest Moon which is Trio of Towns, and Zelda Majora’s Mask. If you slow time in those games it doesn’t affect the villagers’ schedules, things still happen at the same time and nothing is in slow motion or anything. And in Trio of Towns where you can slow time by eating certain meals, you can’t do so until very far in the game so it doesn’t seem like you’re handicapping yourself by not using it, and you won’t finish the game any quicker then intended, which are some problems with it being there outside of endgame.
I think another clock that the wizard sells would be a great idea, though I don’t think it should cost more then maybe 1 or 2 million. That’s because a good amount of the players who would like this feature don’t play for high profits, and forcing them to would ruin the experience which is never good and defeats the purpose. Instead I think it could cost a lot of rare items in addition to the gold, like iridium bars, diamonds, and maybe a prismatic shard. Maybe it can be a rainbow or purple clock :) I also think it’s important to be able to turn it on or off, it can always wait until the next day loads to adjust.
My second choice for a feature to add would have been being able to take your spouse for a walk. They could follow you around, similar to how Pikachu does in Pokémon Yellow, and have dialogue for different areas. And maybe a furniture item, like a coat or hat rack for example, could be used to initiate the walk. I think that this alongside the new movie theater would improve the end game and marriage immensely, but without a feature to slow time I wouldn’t really be able to enjoy it. So as much as I want this I had to pick slowing time ^^ Thanks for reading!
