How to make the most amount of gold in 28 Days?

I decided to try and start a new game save where I try and make the most amount of gold in 28 days.

I was thinking either the Meadowlands Farm, or the Riverland Farm, but feel to recommend me other farm types to try.

Completely vanilla play through. Fishing is usually my main gold making technique, but I'm also wanting to focus on upping my farming level ASAP as well. Any tips/advice you can give me would be appreciated.

Sounds like a fun goal to persue!

There's lots of people on the forums here that share posts about making lots of gold in a short amount of time - @FilthyGorilla is someone that comes to mind!

I think a farm map like the Standard map that is efficient in terms of being able to walk around it easily and quickly, as well as provide the most amount of space for crops and beehives.

But you could make Meadowlands and Riverlands work for sure if you planned it out.

There are definitely levels to how far you'd like to push a challenge like this. Fishing is a really interesting route because it forces basically one singular form of gameplay, as fishing actually makes comparatively little if you don't hard focus it immediately.

Farm doesn't really matter, but meadowland will afford you some additional cash by selling your chickens, which is a good boon for affording fiberglass and bait as soon as possible. Ocean rain fishing is decent if you can't catch early catfish, but you'll want to move onto river fishing when it rains as catfish have a really good bite rate for an expensive selling fish.

A nice change with 1.6 is it actually does encourage branching out a bit, as you'll need smokers, baitmakers (and thus the crafting materials for each) and a decent coal supply (though buying may be faster later on, depending on the rate which you can maximize your coal farming or fishing), and you can even consider getting into more difficult routes such as resetting skull cavern for rain totems if you're really into the fishing.
