iOS Co-op - Controls stop working

Hey! Firstly, thanks so much to the team for bringing multiplayer to mobile. This is amazing and it means so much to me and my friends.

We frequently run into a bug in co-op where our characters get completely stuck. We cannot move around or even open our inventories or settings.

I think it might something to do with auto switching tools, as it happens more often in the mines than on the farm.

The only way to fix the issue seems to be completely restarting the app.

Interestingly, it only happens to people who have joined the server and not the host.

I am experiencing the same issue. Interestingly, it seems to be the worst in the skull caverns.

Happens for me when hosting with windows and joining with iOS. There is no error message, and I can switch between items in hotbar, but cannot do anything else when playing (Using iPad, no controller). The two temporary solutions I have found is to 1- Get attacked by something (like a slime for example, and this method isn't foolproof) or 2- like the OP mentioned is to restart app and rejoin the IP. You have to rejoin twice though, as the first time it says No Cabins Available.
Can even go to 2AM and nothing happens.

Also in completely unmodded stardew 1.6.14.3. Haven't tried it yet with 1.6.14.4.

But to be entirely honest, I'm not even mad or complaining, I am just so grateful to have multiplayer on mobile, and that CA still cares and provides for his fans for years. Been playing it since 2018 on mobile and have loved it even before that. Thank you Eric!!!!!!!!

This is happening to me also. Only in the caves. On iOS single player. The game still goes and I can be killed but all screen presses are unresponsive.

There is another workaround for this bug. Go to control setting and select „tap to move and joysticks“ now there is an gamepad icon in upper left section wich enables joystick and buttons. When freezed simply enable these buttons move a bit disable the buttons and often you be able to move again. Works great for me on an old IPad pro 1 but not always for my girlfriend with an newer 2021 version of the device.

Sometimes the settings change back or the buttons appear to the upper left corner of the screen top of item menu but at least for me this workaround helps to avoid 90% of restarts.

There is another thread about this phenomen may they should merged.

I think this issue got something to do with the touchscreen controls, someone else thinks it’s about the auto attack/change of tools. Will try that.
