Can you change the name of your farm?

I was wondering this too. I like my farm name (Figgy Farm, named after my sis' kitty) but PSN seems to think Figgy is a bad word and *'s it out.. so I've been wanting to change it so I can post pics and stuff of it

You can change your Farm name by editing your game save files in a text editor. I've done this to change my Farm type (from Hilltop to Standard) and changing the Farm Name is much the same but you won't be able to do this on a Console thanks to restrictions, and doing it on mobile might be a big pain. Are you comfortable editing your game save?

I play on console, but if I could do it, I definitely would. I do have a pc that is a little old, but if I can switch my game to pc, then change the game save, then convert it back to console for the sake of making it match up to my profile without it taking much difficulty, then that is what I will do.

oh, does changing the type of farmhouse crash the save file?
I am worried it will be risky.
I am rueful now I didn't choose standard farm at the beginning.

If you edit the file properly then it's a simple change. And of course first you back up the Save folder so in case you don't edit it properly, you can just replace the non-working one with the original working file.

However when it comes to editing your Farm type, there is another big consideration: You need to move all your buildings to a location that is also available on the new farm type (the openness of the Standard Farm helps a lot with this). Also just remove or harvest all your crops for the same reason. Heehee the first second time I edited my Hilltop Farm save, my crops ended up in the big pond on the Standard farm. Oops! The actual first time I edited it, the entire thing failed and I messed up my save-- always make backups!

But it's possible to do and it's very simple as well, it just requires a lot of planning and organized understanding of what you are doing at each step. I had fun rescuing my botched edit about 2 years later and even wrote a little story about it:
