PC Bug/Weird Thing: Can't open gates underneath cliffs

I have my animals set up near the secret fishing spot on the beach farm and they kept wandering into that passageway, so I wanted to place a fence gate in the passageway to stop them from going in but ended up locking myself out and passing out from exhaustion. It's placed at roughly the entrance, out of sight
This could be not a bug and I might just be a dummy but if it's not something that needs a fix then I still think it'd be nice to be able to interact with things that you can't necessarily see
Also sorry if this is something that's already been talked about, I'm very tired

Can you get a screenshot of that gate/cliff area so we can see what you're talking about?

Keep in mind too that if your gate is just floating without being connected to fence on either side (like if you put it IN the passage), it will effectively just be a post blocking your way.
