I'm playing Stardew Valley on Linux (Mint 19.3, specifically) and have had no issues up to this point, even when modding the game. I sat down this morning to fit a few days in before getting my day started, and no dice. I assumed it was a mod acting up at first, so I started scaling back:
-Removed all the mods. No luck.
-Removed SMAPI. No luck.
-Uninstalled Stardew Valley entirely through Steam. Redownloaded the game. No luck.
I noticed before doing the uninstall/reinstall that Steam had supposedly downloaded some Stardew Valley update, though the properties->updates tab for the game says the last update was January 22nd, which is not between February 5th and February 6th.
If this is indeed a thing, it seems like whatever that minor update was broke compatibility for Linux, or at least for my Linuxbox. I'm out of troubleshooting ideas. Anyone got any suggestions?
EDIT: OK, this is weird. I closed Steam. Started it again. It worked fine. I have no idea HOW that fixes anything. But it worked. If you're trying to help someone who's having a similar issue, maybe suggest that solution. It doesn't seem like it *should* fix anything, but it did.
