PC [BUG] Sound missing in fullscreen mode

My sound has been missing when I start up my game from Steam recently. I finally uninstalled the game and reinstalled it and got the sound back but the display was way more zoomed in than I was used to, so I tried to put it back on fullscreen like I normally do. The first time I tried this it froze the game completely and I couldn't even get to task manager and had to restart my computer. Started the game again (settings change didn't save since I restarted the computer) and the sound was there again, changed to fullscreen, sound missing again but it didn't freeze, and even if I switched it back into windowed or windowed borderless after trying fullscreen the sound wouldn't come back.

I'm working on uninstalling it and reinstalling it again so I can get the sound back and I'm going to try to tolerate the zoomed in view of windowed, but it's frustrating to have such a big view of a tiny space on a 32 inch screen and not be able to put it in fullscreen and zoom it out. I also have it on Switch and my Kindle, but I was trying to play it on computer for a change since I have access again.

So this might be a long shot, but in the troubleshooting guide there's this bit about no sound:

---

There’s no sound
Please make sure that you have an audio device plugged in and enabled. If you’re on Windows, right click on the speaker icon in the system tray in the bottom right corner of the screen, and select “open volume mixer”. Make sure that Stardew Valley is not muted and is within an audible volume range.

---

The reason this is in the troubleshooting guide is because the game does act wonky if you unplug headphones in the middle of the game or anything similar.

And for the screen zoom issue, try deleting your startup_preferences (found in %appdata%/StardewValley on Windows or ~/.config/StardewValley on Linux/Mac).
