Switch [BUG] No Hits When Fishing

I'm playing on Switch ver. 1.5.4.2, and I haven't been able to fish in two real-life days because I never, ever get "Hit!"'s, not even for trash, no matter how long my rod has been cast for. More info that might be relevant:

• the Switch has never been hacked or modded, and currently does not need any updates
• I'm playing with an official Switch pro controller
• closing the software did not solve the issue
• fully rebooting the Switch did not solve the issue
• this happens with all rod types in all bodies of water
• this happens at all in-game times of day, and has occurred in both winter and spring (since it started in winter, I can't test summer and fall)
• my fishing level is currently 9. I can't remember exactly when this started in relation to my last level up, but it did not happen before I reached level 9
• I'm playing in single player mode

Sorry to say that I can't help, but I am having the exact same issue with the game on my switch. I only seem to get seaweed. I figured it was just me, interesting that it is not.

Still very reassuring to hear it isn't just me! And congrats on the seaweed, I wish I was getting something to show for all my casting tests

Just wanted to say that this has resolved itself for me for... some reason. It happened shortly after I leveled up in another skill, so maybe that un-broke whatever was broken?
