Idk how or if this would work, but I think it'd be fun and nice if the computer players gave a letter on your birthday if you could input it. You get to give them gifts on theirs so why not have one for the player and have them get letters sent with a gift or just a happy birthday? It could even just be one big letter from the town saying happy birthday and a gift that they all agreed on to give the player or even the favorite thing the play inputs in the beginning if it's one of the in-game items. Just a thought I think would be pretty neat and make players maybe feel more special and fun.

(I only played Tale of The Two Towns for the 3DS but it had a birthday in it and it put it on the calendar like everyone else's)

This is something that's strange to me. NPCS already mail you stuff so why not actually give you something on the day? I mean you survived one year on God's green earth without croaking that's a big achievement considering the mines.
