For me? Largemouth bass. I'm not sure why it gives me so much grief, but it does lol. Or is it legend? I forget. They look the exact same

You'll always catch a million of the exact fish you don't want when you're trying to go for something specific, and the great thing is if you eventually do need the fish that was annoying you, you'll all of a sudden be catching a load of the fish you did want before instead.
Mostly joking but there is a psychological background to it, you focus a lot on what you're not getting when you want something than you would when you're going for something without bias towards any one result.

yes! Trying to catch the legend is so hard because carps and largemouth basses wasted all my seafoam pudding!
Also, when I was trying to catch a goby one time, this very annoying chub came up and another bream and I just gave up for the night.

I agree octopus hardest to find, hardest to reel in and not worth much money.
But bar none, the fish you need to complete the CC or perfection will be THE hardest to catch. No difficulty always, just annoyingly absent from every attempt to catch fish no matter time, weather or season, guaranteed. The game KNOWS. Oh boy does in just KNOWS. It knows EVERYTHING. You can run but you can’t hide from THE GAME.
